Did a Timing Belt on a 2008 PT Cruiser.

Customer took this vehicle to a mechanic over on 25W due to the engine not being in time 4 months ago and the mechanic failed to place the tensioner in the correct (1-2 o’clock) position for the belt to be tightened properly which caused the belt to come off the gears and pulleys and shredded up inside the housing.

When doing a timing belt on these motors it is best to replace the water pump. To do so you have to remove the camshaft gears to remove the plastic to be able to get to the water pump. These come in a kit. Along with a pulley, tensioner pulley, and the timing belt.

It is better to find yourself an honest and money saving mechanic so you don’t pay to have the work done twice. Please feel free to give me a call when you need something done right!
