Out of warranty SP8 dynamo hub needs bearings and you're in a hurry? Of course it's my own wheel that a friend wanted to borrow for a tour. The joy with these is the wheel has to be unlaced to separate the hub shell halves to remove the bearing. Caps are also pressed on.

New truing table! Got a modified desk for $6 and welded on rails to add a shelf at the bottom for spokes. Used existing nuts to add a receiver mount underneath to bolt my stand to. Now I can swap it out for a vice depending on what work I'm doing. Otherwise it just opens up countertop space. Added some casters so I can roll it around, especially when I inevitably drop something underneath it.

Best mountain bike I've ever owned. Excellent suspension tuning from the factory, with great adjustment options to dial in for the specific trail needs. Never a shortage of traction. It naturally puts the weight where it's needed so it bombs the downhills, shoots over the tops of the rock gardens, and still climbs with no noticable bounce (when seated). Enduro bikes are the new XC.

Four broken spokes in this ENVE from a stick. Replaced six spokes and all the ni***es with new ENVE internal ni***es. This wheel was old enough to use the old style ENVE ni***es that had a flatter seat.
This wheel sat at another shop FOR A YEAR until they told the costumer they couldn't get parts for it. There isn't anything special here and the rim nor hub are damaged. DT Aerolite spokes and ENVE ni***es, both available from QBP. I did have to source the long DT swiss 3.2 ni**le tool elsewhere as the three sided Park was too short for this deep rim.

Cushcore is awesome. I can install it with your new wheels. It let's me run the pressure I want for traction, not the pressure I need to keep the tire from squirming. Cushcore takes away the squirm and stabilizes the tire. It definitely helps with my heavy body.

The Hydra hubs are crazy. There are 690 points of engagement. Definitely worth it if you want to step up a level on your hub choice on your next wheelset.

I like Nextie rims for affordable carbon with good quality. I currently have three sets on various bikes and I'm happy with them all. I've had this pair for like four years and felt confident in them to lace them up again. I'm working on setting up as a dealer so drop me a line if you think you want a pair, they have a minimum order.

A few more wheels out the door. Some dirt jump 26" wheels. Purple hubs with matching ni***es to Spike 33 rims we scored end of summer before they went out of stock. Then another set with customer supplied parts. They were able to find some Flow MK3 rims in Europe+out of stock in the US for a while) and supplied a new 350 and a used straight pull Roval front hub. I'm happy to build with used hubs so if you've got a project in your head and want to reuse hubs clean them up and give a holler.

More straight pull fun! At least these are aero spokes so I can use the more ergonomic holder. This "hand built" Easton was breaking a spoke every year. It had at least two different spokes and three different types of ni***es. The hub has to be disassembled to replace the spokes on the NDS. Don't buy wheels like this. They are a pain to service. Don't buy 20h wheels either.

Next two pics are a wheel that was run over (and the bike). I already built replacement wheels but they wanted to reuse the hub for backup wheels. The rim was not only scraped up but crushed inwards in one spot. A surprise was the spokes that were 2mm too long sticking out of the ni**le. More OEM excellence. Usually I see too short so the aluminum ni***es break after a few years.

Straight pull spokes are neat, but I personally am not a fan. Replacements are not usually on hand and can prolong the repair process. Round straight pull spokes are also very time consuming to build with as they are difficult to hold to prevent rotation. Aero spokes are much nicer to work with for straight pulls.

This is an older Giant factory carbon rim. Warranty replacement. This is actually the second time the rim on this wheel has failed. Supposedly the new carbon hoops from Giant are better.
