2021 IBN UPDATE: (Thursday, May 13, 2021)
Thank you to the many people that have reached out to inquire about the 2021 Indianola Bike Night Season. We have the following update to share:
Unfortunately, it is not the news we had hoped to share with you, nor the news we personally wanted. After in depth discussions and many days and weeks of thoroughly planning and thought, it has been decided that Indianola Bike Night will not be held in 2021.
This decision was made due to the major courthouse construction project which has now reduced the size of the square even greater, drastically limiting the event space. During this construction project, power has been eliminated to all parts of the square which Indianola Bike Night normally uses during the events and there is no option for temporary power setups. In addition to those major issues prohibiting us from holding the event, the new Downtown Streetscape project will also limit the access to the square throughout the entire summer, which includes tearing up major portions of the roadways for infrastructure repairs, greatly limiting the already reduced event space.
We do want you to know that we have exhausted all ideas for other potential venues to hold Indianola Bike Night throughout the City of Indianola and the greater Warren County area and we feel confident in our decision, but obviously disappointed.
“Indianola Bike Night started 16 years ago on this very same town square, and in order for our event to be held to the level our Indianola Bike Night family has come to know and expect, we unfortunately felt this was our best decision for this year,” said the organizers of Indianola Bike Night. “We felt 2021 was likely going to be one of our best years yet for Indianola Bike Night—knowing that everyone is itching to get back out and enjoy some normalcy through events like Indianola Bike Night which attracts thousands to Indianola, from across Warren County, central Iowa and the entire Midwest.”
With that being said, Indianola Bike Night is extremely disappointed that yet another year will pass without this wonderful event. But don’t be fooled, Indianola Bike Night is not done forever! We are planning to come back stronger than ever in 2022, with hopes that some major progress will take place in the revitalization of the square and enable us to hold a high-quality event with our original capacity and space.
We want to take a minute to thank each and every one of you for your understanding and your continued support. This decision was definitely not easy, nor was it made lightly. We would also like to thank our great sponsors for sticking with us through these rough two years. We look forward to seeing all of you and many new faces as well in 2022.
