- 2026 Eldora 4 Crown -
Man, I don’t know what to say. The thought of feeling bummed after finishing 13th against the national boys at one of the most prestigious events of the year is not something I had on my bingo card last weekend. I’m happy, proud, excited, thankful, but still a little bummed. The “what could have been” strikes me again. But it only makes me want to work that much harder.
We made wholesale changes before the feature. I had a good feeling about them—we looked at our notes, checked the track, looked at our notes again, and checked the track again. I wasn’t about to get skunked like in the past 🦨
Although, I was a little nervous after discussing our changes with CJ, but after lap 2, I knew we had something. The car felt as good as it ever has. I quickly got to work, started hitting my marks, dialing in the car with my k***s, and making my way forward. It just kept getting better and better. We ended up running our quickest lap on lap 14. We worked our way up into 11th by lap 26. I was pushing hard, and the comfort was still there. 🏋️
On a late restart, there was a very visible crash up ahead. The race director clearly stated red flag, and I lifted and slowed to avoid the area. I got drove over from behind and came to a stop, causing us to be a part of the caution. ⚠️
Luckily, we were still on the lead lap and were able to restart in 11th, but would have restarted 7th if not for being a part of the caution. With a broken-off shock, we were able to hold on for 13th at the checkered flag—tying our best national finish to date. It makes me sick to think we had our first top ten at our fingertips but weren’t able to capitalize due to something out of my control. 😐
On the bright side and positive side, we truthfully had a very successful weekend! ✅
We qualified well, hot-lapped well, heat raced great, and featured well. The car was phenomenal, the boys on the wrenches were flawless, and we had FUN. That’s really a near-perfect weekend of racing, and to do it at 4-Crown makes it that much more fun! 👌🏼
Tre, Cody, and Butch really put in the hours last weekend, and man, it showed! Again, I am really stoked with how we finished up and thankful for their dedication. A 13th to some may sound bad, but to us, it’s a successful weekend. We are progressing, learning, working forward, and always trying to be better. 🛠️
Thank you to the Clark family for helping us this weekend. Thank you to everyone that reached out, and to the ones that grabbed some shirts and hoodies. 🏡
I can’t wait for next year. Eldora is the coolest freakin’ place there is. Until then, we will get back to work! 🌎
Thank you to our awesome partners that help make this possible and allow me to showcase you! 🌟
