Here at Vintage Fabrication, we have built cars over the past 20 years that have won top awards including, but not limited to, ISCA Champions, Pro's Pick, Truck of the Year Finalist, Rod & Custom Top 100, Rod & Custom Street Rod of the Year Finalist, Street Rod Top 100. Our cars have been featured in several hot rod magazines, including covers and multiple page spreads. Not sure what you want? We

have several professional artists and designers that will help you design your custom rod so that you can see what the finished product will look like. They can make up several designs so you can pick your design as well as color scheme. Whether you are building a car or just thinking about building one, please feel free to visit our shop and our website to keep track of our new projects. Well, we are hauling home some serious hardware from the Triple Crown of Rodding. This evening we were presented with the Early Truck of the Year award for Bill and Cainya Paul’s 1934 Ford pickup. This honor came with a custom Gibson guitar, a new polishing system kit from Griots Garage, and two beautiful trophies. This event is one of the best we have ever been to and featured the best cars in the country. Just being in the top 30 would have been amazing, but winning the early truck of the year was undeniably an honor. Thanks to everyone for such an amazing time.

In addition to the Brown’s fresh Chevy coupe being at the NSRA Street Tod Nationals in Louisville, Kentucky, we also have the California Kid Express set up at Pete and Jake’s booth with the original California Kid. Be sure to swing by their booth and see the legend that inspired the Express build.

Yesterday we wrapped up Dale and Kathy Brown’s 1935 Chevrolet coupe, nicknamed by the owner “Devious”, just in time for the NSRA Street Rod Nationals in Louisville, Kentucky. Lots of cool details on this car, like the owner designed window mechanisms, hand built center grille, 1949 Buick dash, and one off emblems. If you’re at the event this weekend, be sure to keep an eye out for our latest build cruising the grounds. It’s not too hard to spot, after all it might be the only 1935 Chevrolet with a modified 1937 Terraplane grille there.

Today was a great day for Vintage Fabrication and everyone involved with Bill and Cainya Paul’s 1934 Ford pickup “California Kid Express”. At the Goodguys Nationals in Columbus, Ohio we were honored to be crowned the 2024 Street Rod of the Year. We can’t thank Goodguys and those involved in judging enough for bestowing such an honor on one of our builds. They say it takes a village to raise a child, well the same goes for building a car…it takes a big team. Thank you to Paul’s for entrusting the build to us and thank you to all those involved with this build.

Career day Indian Trails Elementary big thanks to Independence Police Department, Missouri National Guard our son Bruce with Schumacher Farms, independence power and light, and the other companies that came out today. Off and on sprinkling rain but a good day overall.

We had a great time today out at Pete & Jake’s open house celebrating their 50th anniversary. We had Bill and Cainya Paul’s California Kid Express on display in the showroom and were overwhelmed with all the attention the car received. There were also a number of legendary hot rods in attendance, as well as a handful of the hot rod communities most well known personalities. The weather was great, the turn out was tremendous, and a large sum of money was raised through their auction to support the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Here is a glimpse of what we saw.

Punching some louvers on our Mitler brothers punch press upgraded with BVA hydraulics cylinder.

Owen’s 63 Corvette split window finished restoration after he took it apart nearly 30 years ago. We were thrilled to build it for him and see the smile on his face when he finally got to drive it. We have made the difficult decision to not have our open house again this year. The risk of Covid is just not worth it. We have lost friends over it and would be devastated if someone got it here.
