One of the last updates on the Chevelle! Everything is done besides the core support, for which parts are on the way to mount it, the radiator, condenser, and transmission cooler/lines to finally get the frame ready to go to paint so that it can get some love and the body can be mounted.

A 2015 Silverado came in for a non-working compressor and blowing hot air, which presented several issues. I started by vacuuming the system, then fixed a leak that was found, and refilled the system with the correct amount of refrigerant. Afterward, I discovered the blend door actuator had also failed, preventing the door from being in the correct position. While the glove box was out for the actuator repair, I decided to check the cabin air filter and found the filter and blower motor packed with a rodent's nest which replaced the filter and cleaned out the nest to get everything back in great shape!

A 2017 GTI came in for an AC issue. After diagnostics, I found two lines cut from rubbing on the fan shroud. The customer opted for a new compressor, which also included a new expansion valve and dryer. After removing the old dryer, I found metal shavings from an earlier compressor failure. After a flush and practically a new system, the customer is back on the road with ice-cold AC!

A 2018 Silverado came in with a customer complaint of no AC after someone put Freon in for him, and he also wanted the transmission fluid changed. I started by diagnosing the system. The first readings I took on the gauges showed a blockage. After vacuuming down the system and replacing the expansion valve, the vehicle had AC again, but only on the passenger side. After checking the blend door position, I found a faulty actuator, which resolved the secondary issue.

It has been a while since the Chevelle project had an update! The suspension has been finalized, along with the Vintage Air system besides lines/wiring, which will be done when the body is back. To get the motor combo to fit, even with the smallest pan possible to get the motor/trans to fit, the crossmember had to be notched to ensure our fitment issues were gone.

Now, onto the brake lines, rear suspension, and fuel system!
