Belleville 305 Nationals

Friday night recap:
Started off by going 4th quickest in qualifying group 4 which put us starting 3rd. Garrett Benson got by us and we finished 4th which locked us into the A main! Rolled off 19th for the A main and ended up 21st. The car could’ve been a little tighter and driver could’ve been little better in the slick and running the top but all in all, we were very happy with how the first night EVER at the High Banks went!

Saturday night recap:
Went 5th quickest in group 1 for qualifying. The car felt great and there wasn’t much we could’ve done to run a better lap other than maybe have a little more motor. Started 5th in the heat race, going into turn one I lost a bit of momentum to the guys running the top and didn’t get up quick enough and ended up 7th. That put us starting 13th in the B and that’s where we would finish.

All in all a great first time and experience at Belleville! We felt with how little we’ve been in a sprint car, we got comfortable pretty quickly there! Ready to be back September 11th to try again!

Well, our first full season in the 305 with the URSS is officially in the books.

It definitely had its highs, but there were a whole lot of lows too. After starting the season upside down off the track at Salt City, we basically had to hit the reset button with a brand new car. The good news is we kept it in one piece after that. The bad news is it felt like every night there was something holding us back—whether it was the pickup in the fuel tank sucking shut, bad fuel, missing the setup, or just driver mistakes. We just couldn’t seem to put a complete night together.

That’s racing, though. We’ll learn from it and come back better. We’ve got a lot of years ahead of us to keep improving and competing.

I want to give a huge thank you to my dad, mom, sister, brother-in-law, girlfriend, and everyone else who pitched in this season. I couldn’t do it without you. And thank you to all of my partners who came on board this year and continue to help make this dream possible.

Congratulations to Taylor Velasquez on winning the championship, and Conner Thomas on earning Rookie of the Year. Well deserved!

Last but definitely not least, thank you to the entire URSS ownership and staff for everything you do to make this series happen.

Next up for us is the Belleville 305 Nationals on July 31st and August 1st. We’ll see y’all at the track!
