Weekend Recap 🏁
- Friday @ Lacrosse
Started off the night with a good pill draw getting the 26, that put us starting 2nd in our heat. The track was good around the bottom and going into turn one lost a spot and fell to third. Going into turn 3 the leader went off the track and the yellow came out. We got lucky and didn’t complete a lap so restarted 1st and that’s where we were able to finish and win the heat putting us in the redraw.
We redrew the 7 and started there for the feature. Going into 1 Brayton hit a rut and biked hard but some cars got tangled up behind and the red came out. He made it up to fifth running there for the first portion of the race but lost a few spots from not finding the top in 3-4 soon enough. We ended up finishing 8th.
- Saturday @ 81 Speedway
32 cars checked in for tonight, we drew the 37 pill, since we were running with ASCS we did a qualifying style format, so we went out 2nd in group 3. Brayton laid down a time of 15.484 and ended up 3rd in our group and 10th overall fastest out of 32. Started 2nd in our heat and got a good jump off the start and ran the top going into 1 but lost 1st to the 21x and ended up finishing second in the heat.
That put us starting 10th in the feature and on lap one cars got together right in front of the Brayton and he avoided most of the wreck but hopped the right front of another car making the 112 wheelie and slam back down pretty hard, luckily no damage occurred. A lot of driver errors happened and we ended up finishing the night in 12th.
Overall it was a successful weekend rolling the car back in the trailer in one piece and securing our first heat race win with the URSS.
