I have ZERO problems calling out bad behavior on trails. It's sad when you tell entitled people that the roads don't just belong to them and they try to make YOU the problem.

The guy in the left was fish tailing and speeding on Peru Creek on a busy Sunday afternoon and VERY upset that I called him on it... even making sure I knew his Daddy was a lawyer and that I was 'harassing' him by airing up in the parking lot he was in. 😂🤣

When rental companies like don't educate their renters, you get belligerent bachelor parties tearing up our local trails that are already under threat.

#31 – One Trail At A Time: Chihuahua Gulch

Chihuahua Gulch holds a special place in my heart, being one of the first Colorado trails I tackled with the yellow JK, back when it was still in its stock form. Eager to explore, I ventured onto this trail without any lift upgrades, and the rugged terrain marked my Jeep with its first battle scars on the undercarriage.

The trail begins with a steep, rocky ascent through dense forests, demanding careful navigation to avoid obstacles. As you top out, the landscape opens up to breathtaking alpine meadows framed by towering peaks, including Grizzly, Grays, and Torreys. These days, the road now ends at a parking lot, and if you want to reach the alpine lake that once marked the end of the trail, you’ll have to hike in. It’s worth it—the lake, visible from the top of Argentine Pass, is a stunning spot that makes every step of the climb worthwhile.

"Every trail has its lessons; it's up to us to embrace them." — JD Marshall

#29 – One Trail At A Time: Cedar Mountain Road

There’s something special about watching a landscape heal itself. Cedar Mountain Road has been a go-to trail for years, not just for its simple, scenic drive, but because it winds through the scars of the Hayman Fire. Every time we drive it, we see new life—young aspens stretching toward the sky, wildflowers filling in the empty spaces, and the forest slowly reclaiming what was lost.

This road isn’t about technical challenges or adrenaline—it’s about the feeling of being out there, seeing the mountains stretch out around you, and knowing that nature is always pushing forward. It’s a favorite for locals because it’s the gateway to so many adventures, connecting to trails like Hackett, Longwater, and Metberry Gulch. Whether you're just out for an easy ride or using it as a jumping-off point for something bigger, it always delivers.

Cedar Mountain Road is a reminder that our trails are more than just dirt paths; they’re stories in motion. The land changes, the trees grow back, and we keep coming back to see it happen.

"Fire may take the trees, but it can’t take the trail." — JD Marshall
