I thought this was worth sharing as a reminder to check your windshield seals.

The seller told me this '87 Carrera had no rust issues. When I removed the original windshield to replace a cracked seal, I found rust hiding underneath the gasket. What looked like surface rust turned into a few pinholes once I cleaned it up.

Luckily it was caught early and repaired before it spread any further.

The surprising part was that this is a galvanized car, but decades of trapped moisture under a hardened seal still managed to cause damage.

Anyone else found rust hiding in this area?

Sometimes the best trips are the simple ones—just an old car, a good road, and nowhere urgent to be.

I loaded up the MK2 Supra, packed some basic camping gear, and headed for the mountains to find the best backroads and a quiet place to spend the night. No big destination, no tight schedule—just driving, camping, cooking, and enjoying the kind of trip these old cars were made for.

There’s something special about slowing down, watching the sunrise over the hood, cooking dinner next to the car, and remembering why we keep these machines alive in the first place.

This isn’t really a camping video.
It’s a reminder of why old cars matter.

Thanks for watching and coming along for the drive. Can you guess where I was?

Another custom bracket to mount a Bosch Idle Control Valve to my ITB filter baseplate.
This tucks it up behind cylinder 6 where it's barely visible and it gets filtered air from the main ITG filter.
The circular parts are made of delrin so they can clamp down on the body of the iacv .
The remaining parts are either aluminum or steel and Cerakoted with H series black.
A factory Carrera elbow works perfect to direct the flow into a common airflow plenum that eventually sneaks equal air into each throttle body.
That air plenum is made of brass.
The idle control valve is only partially open depending how the cold the engine is and then ultimately closes when things warm up.
Just turn the key and the engine revs to 1500 until it warms up. Need to do some cold moutain driving to see how it does when teally cold.
