Masonries Masonries is a hip new company out of Arcata California that specializes in Mason Jar Accessories. You see, in Humboldt County there is an eco-friendly vibe.

Masonries is a small company that began on the campus of Humboldt State University, in Northern California. While on campus, the founder noticed an increasing number of Mason jars (canning jars) being toted around by the students. The people of the area opt to use glass jars instead of throwaway bottles and containers due to their simplicity, functionality and sustainability. The HSU campus has ac

tually banned the sales of plastic water bottles due to their negative impact on the environment, further increasing the use of canning jars. The need for jar accessories arises from three issues with using canning jars:
1) Glass is susceptible to breaking.
2) The wide-mouth of the jar encourages spilling
3) Jars are bulky, making them a less practical vessel for those on the go. Masonries makes products that address these issues, making jars more practical, more functional and more durable. Coming January 2014 is a line of sleeves to increase durability while providing insulation. Sleeves will be available in materials like: silicone, neoprene, and hemp fibers. Following the release of protective sleeves will be a line of various lids to make drinking from jars easier. Masonries plans to release a carabiner attachment and a car cup-holder convertor to address the bulkiness of 16 and 24oz jars. Patents are currently pending on Masonries jar accessories.
