These are two different hydraulic control units for CVT, or infinitely variable transmissions. We painted the bolts according to length, then took pictures of the bolts in their appropriate holes.

We are writing our tech information as we go on these units, as there isn’t much available. Also, we are having certain parts fabricated when we need to.

It’s very satisfying to put one of these back into service, with design improvements, all while saving our clients money!

One of the higher-priced transmissions, an AS68RC, which is found in Dodge 4500 series and up trucks, has a couple of weak points. This is one of them: a defective weld of the torque converter pilot. It’s a heavy component, and without the support from the pilot, it destroys the pump, and subsequently the $8000 transmission.

For owners of 2007 and up GM products with the 5.3 engine Family, be aware that a hard or harsh 1-2 shift might not necessarily be a transmission issue.
