No communication to OBD connector, inspection place couldn’t read the information of the car computer. We found a GPS tracking device connected to the OBD2 port. Removed and to the trash it goes this piece of junk. The among of problems this type of devices cause, from battery drain, communication problems etc.

Customer took her 2021 Nissan to a shop for a check engine light. Shop recommended replacing the grill shutter. The shutter is computer control design to allow/block air flow through the vents to optimize fuel efficiency by closing the vents and allowing the engine to reach normal operating temperature faster. Well, long story short, the shop quoted $1100.00 to replace the shutter. Customer gave us a call and as it is our method to always do a visual inspection before any in depth diagnosis, we noticed an oil cap preventing the shutter from opening and closing. It took us 2min to see this. We removed the cap, performed a recalibration procedure with our scan tool to make sure the shutter works properly. Everything tested good, check engine light was cleared and no parts were needed.

2020 Dodge challenger s**t pack, with the big 6.4 engine. This model has a common rattle noise coming from the exhaust actuators. Customer complained of a rattle at start up. We removed the factory mechanism design to reduce exhaust noise. Although the design doesn’t make much of a difference in the sound, all it did was to create more problem to deal with 😅.
