what started out as my first project and is currently owning 2 rare GMC pickups. There has been a good response from sharing the photo of my 58, so I will start sharing that one as well. Thank you for the support and enjoyment you express on my photos!! This truck originally began it's life as a 1957 GMC 100 with a 6 cyl, hydromatic transmission, and a small window. I purchased the truck in 2003 with the idea of just making a rat rod. After having the truck for about 6 months, I came across a 1956 big window GMC. That was when the real project began. My father and I began the rebirth of what you see now. We installed a 76 Camaro front clip and rear end to improve the safety and comfort. All of the body work and paint was done by Rodney Belt with Rodneys Rods and Restos in Conroe. Ophelia is powered by a chevy 350 with turbo 350 transmission. The front bumper is a factory 1956 GMC bumper with 1956 Cadillac dagmars welded together. It currently sports a 1964 factory flat bed with a fold down canopy to protect from the Texas heat. The side mirrors are from a 1960 International truck. The interior sports seats from a 2003 mercedes sport. My dad and I built this truck to be a daily driver and since we got it on the road in February I've put about 11,000 miles on it. The best trip was a visit to the Grand Canyon for July 4th weekend. Me and the wife drove in Ophelia and my parents drove in my dads 1964 C10, also a daily driver.

*update to the ongoing project*

The flatbed was on loan from my dad and I always actually wanted my truck to be a fleetside. After having multiple sets of bedsides worked to make a good set, Dynacorn started reproducing the bedsides. The bedsides are currently being worked with the addition of a few modifications to keep it custom. We went with a one off custom tailgate representing the correct 56 GMC script, with hidden latches. We also added a metal bed floor from a 67 chevy truck for durability with wider inner fenders. Rodney hand built a custom piece at the front of the bed to match the curve of the cab. Also, during the bed construction phase we c-notched the frame in the back and flipped the axle to give the truck a more leveled stance and added some Torque Thrust II's (18x8 in the front and 20x10 in the rear)

Fuel stop on a gray morning, and Ophelia still steals the whole station.
That bright orange paint pops against the red Synergy pumps and the bare winter trees out back.
A stock 1955 to 1959 GMC came from the factory sitting tall on skinny steel wheels with plain bumpers, but she rides low on polished five spokes and wears those massive chrome bullet guards up front.
The red GMC script on the grille and the 3R-405 plate tie it all together.
Parked right beside her is a weathered red Chevy, and the two of them side by side make the gas line feel like a pop up car show.
Somebody is going to be late wherever they were headed after this.

Gray sky, a wall of pines, and Ophelia squared up nose first on clean concrete.
That red GMC script across the egg crate grille looks even bolder under soft overcast light.
A stock 1955 to 1959 GMC rolled out with plainer trim and a taller factory stance, but she sits lower and wears that wraparound chrome and those big bullet guards like they were always meant to be there.
Down in the lower grille bar, the little 100 badge is a nice nod to where she started.
The Texas 56 plate in its Winkel Motors frame finishes the look like a dealer lot photo from another era.
No crowd, no traffic, just clean lines and a whole lot of orange against all that green.

Evening sky, a tall JEWEL sign overhead, and Ophelia parked right out front like she owns the block.
Shot low from the pavement, that chrome bumper and those big bullet guards look ready to roll right out of the frame.
The soft dusk light catches every curve of her orange paint, from the red GMC hood badge to the chrome spear down the bed side.
A stock 1955 to 1959 GMC sat tall on narrow tires and painted hubcaps, but she hugs the street on polished five-spoke wheels.
Same classic lines the factory drew up, just lower, cleaner, and carrying a lot more attitude.
With the black awning and old storefronts behind her, the whole scene feels like a 1950s postcard come to life.
Cruise nights downtown do not get much better than this.

Two GMC faces, one fresh concrete pad, and a wall of tall pines keeping it all shady.
Ophelia sits front and center in that glossy orange, chrome bumper bullets and the old 3R-405 plate catching the soft light under the trees.
Just over her shoulder, The 58 Slate shows off its slate blue and white with the quad headlight grille GMC rolled out in '58, a fun little before and after of the Task Force years.
A stock 1955 to 1959 GMC rode tall on painted steel wheels with plenty of daylight in the fender wells, but she sits low and level on polished five-spokes with the bed tucked tight to the tires.
That long chrome spear down the bedside ties it all together.
Empty lot, good company, and a finished truck ready for whatever road comes next.
Which grille gets your vote?

Lights on, lot empty, and nothing but black sky behind her.
Ophelia owns this concrete slab after dark, those amber headlights throwing a warm glow across the chrome bullets and the old 3R-405 plate.
The GMC hood letters pop against that deep orange paint, and her shadow stretches long across the pavement like it wants to go for a drive too.
A stock 1955 to 1959 GMC would be sitting tall on skinny tires with painted steel wheels, but she hunkers down low on polished five-spokes with the stance of a truck that means business.
That V8 badge on the fender is a little hint of what is waiting under the hood.
Late nights like this are when she feels most at home, quiet roads and a full tank.
Who else loves a good night cruise?

That Meguiar's bottle on the concrete says it all.
Ophelia is prepped, polished, and ready to roll, a completed 1956 GMC 100 catching clean blue sky along a quiet lot.
From this low passenger-side angle the chrome five-spokes and heavy front bumper do the talking, while the GMC 100 fender badge sits right where it belongs on that glossy orange sheetmetal.
A stock mid-fifties GMC would ride tall on steelies with work-truck manners, but she trades that upright stance for a slammed silhouette and show chrome that still gets driven.
Green trees fill the backdrop and the paint is throwing sky and leaf reflections down the doors.
No trailer queen energy here, just a daily driver getting the last shine before the next miles.

Fresh powder, warm orange, and those headlights cutting through the gray.
Ophelia is out here carving arcs in ankle-deep snow like a custom 1956 GMC 100 that forgot it was ever meant to stay in the shop.
Snow piles on the body-color sun visor and chrome bumper while the flakes keep falling, and that lowered stance still looks right even when the lot goes white.
A stock mid-fifties GMC would sit tall on steelies and take the weather like work, but she trades the utility look for slammed chrome multi-spokes and show paint that still gets driven.
Bare winter trees fade into the overcast haze behind her, and the tire tracks say she has already had her fun.
No parade pace today, just a daily driver reminding everyone that finished builds belong on the road, snow and all.

Soft overcast light on Stiles Street is treating Ophelia like a headliner.
That orange 1956 GMC 100 sits low and loud in front of the BAR & PATIO neon, chrome grille and bullet guards catching every bit of gray-sky glow.
A dark classic C10 rides sh***un right behind her, modern cars lined further down the curb, and somehow she still owns the block.
Stock 1955-1959 GMCs sat taller on steelies and never wore this mirror-deep paint or slammed stance.
Completed build vibes from the body-color sun visor to that vintage Texas plate, ready to cruise whenever the canopy crowd heads out.
Just Ophelia, parked pretty and looking like the daily that refuses to blend in.

Golden light is doing Ophelia all kinds of favors in this parking stall.
That body-color sun visor and the red GMC letters sit proud over a bumper so bright you can almost see the lot lines in it.
She is parked neat between the yellow stops, with green grass and pine trees stacking up behind her like a quiet backdrop for all that chrome.
A stock 1955-1959 GMC rolled taller on steelies and never wore this kind of lowered stance or mirror-deep orange.
Completed 1956 GMC 100 energy from grille to Fleetside, polished and ready, not a shop project.
Just Ophelia soaking up the late-day shine like she owns the asphalt.

I need your honest opinion. Obviously the way of the world is headed towards AI and it's very noticeable with all of the fake profiles posting builds of fake vehicles. What would you rather see on my page? The real photos or AI images??

I always try to have AI correct my truck to as real as possible while still providing the entertainment piece I'm looking for, but I want you thoughts!
