Although it was painted once, Tucker 1034 remains one of the most original Tucker 48s. Originally and still Waltz blue, it features its mostly original interior and its original engine. A few components of the suspension and engine had been changed over the years due to needed repairs but most were corrected back to original by IDA Automotive and Preston Tucker LLC a few years ago. New vintage Tucker dealership photos! We believe these photos were taken at a Tucker dealer in California during a 1948 showing, possibly H.J. Montague Tucker sales. Another Tucker dealer, Robert Mundhenk of Torpedo Motors is in both photos. We believe the car might be Tucker 1006 through some quick research but we could be wrong. On the set of the 1988 Lucasfilm movie Tucker: the Man and His Dream. This photo was taken by Chick DeLorenzo of one of the four movie prop cars made for the film (note the engine in the front). We had AI correct / restore the original photo to remove the sun glare and we think it did a darn good job! We have learned so much about Tucker 1051 since acquiring it together with Rob Ida last year. These newly discovered photos were taken in 1971 when the car was owned by Henry & Clyde Poll. The Polls purchased the car in 1953. Note the full suspension, partial interior, wheels and tires, etc. before it was owned by the late great Chick DeLorenzo. Based on a letter from Clyde Poll during the same time period we also believe the car already had an engine. Great period shot at a Tucker dealer sometime in mid to late 1948. We are not 100% sure which car this is. It appears to be Viola Gray or Waltz blue, is probably an early car (1025 or lower), and is not 1002. That narrows it down to about 9 cars, and the front plate might get us even further. Any ideas? Let us know in the comments!
