Memorial Day is not about the sales, long weekend, the bbq’s or about saying
"Happy Memorial Day."
And while we deeply appreciate our active duty military, veterans, and their service, today is specifically meant to honor the men and women who lost their lives serving this country.
The ones who never made it home.
The ones whose families received folded flags instead of homecomings.
The ones whose children grew up missing a parent. The ones who gave everything they had so the rest of us could live freely.
This day was never meant to just be another celebration. It's a day of remembrance.
A day of grief for many families.
A day to pause and acknowledge the cost of freedom. Take a moment to teach your kids what Memorial Day truly means. Visit a memorial. Say their names. Lower the music for a second, Reflect and remember. Because for many families, today is not ”happy." It's heartbreak.
Freedom was never free. 🇺🇸
