God Bless the U.S.A featuring Lee Greenwood, Home Free and The Singing Sergeants

There are just a few songs that grab my heart, make my nose burn (just a little) and water my eyes (just a little). I stumbled onto this acapella version of this song and it's simply AMAZING!! Turn it on, Turn it up and enjoy!!! .... and try to be thankful for who you are and where you have been so very, very blessed to have been born. We have our flaws for sure, it's undisputed, but...... We are all so very, very fortunate as well! My thoughts before I go back to work.... oh... PLEASE SHARE THIS AS MUCH AS YOU CAN... WE NEED THIS!!!

"God Bless The U.S.A" is one of America's most iconic songs, so we are thrilled to have been part of history in the brand new cover of this hit, featuring Le...

BIG STUFF FEBRUARY!!

February looks like BIG STUFF MONTH! The guys have been working on a lot of very large industrial projects already this month. We just finished the pair of tube and shell oil coolers you see pictured. These were for Northern Natural Gas from the compressor station in Bushton. Far from typical, these units had corrosion inside on surfaces that mate up with a pair of packing gaskets so surfaces had to be prepped and rebuilt with an industry standard polymer, then dressed back down for a smooth mating surface so there were no internal leaks. This pair of coolers takes heat out of the engine oil and these massive engines that keep our natural gas coming to our homes and businesses through out a large section of the mid-west. Very important pieces for a very important engine that does a very important job!

The photo of the large Caterpillar radiator reflects the size of cooling tasks required on drilling locations for some of the very large engines that work to keep our petroleum production moving and continue powering one of our country's most important economic bases. Hat's off to our county's men and women that bust there butt's 7 days a week to keep the good old USA on top! Thank you all for the work! We appreciate it!

1946 Ford Woodie Wagon SVT supcharged cooling package project

Phil & Deborah Becker's 1946 Ford Woodie wagon with a Ford SVT Cobra power plant needed some cooling help so Phil was referred to us by Michael Keller of Big Creek Restoration to get it right. This Woodie was featured in September 2013 Street Rodder Magazine. Phil sent us the old radiator from Illinois to be duplicated with a more efficient set up than what he already had. Scott fabricated this aluminum radiator for a replacement. Phil was interested in the new brushless fans that are now available for these types of projects. They are spendy but the specs on these fans are off the charts! This particular cooling package included a 500 watt brushless fan by SPAL. Unfortunately, the shroud and mounting that comes with this fan was so bulky Scott was afraid they might have some fit problems in the tight engine compartment so Scott undressed the fan & motor assembly from the plastic shroud and made an aluminum shroud that included the fan mounting and blade guards. The customer had pretty much every thing under the hood in paint so this assembly was painted gloss black to blend in. Very nice car Phil & Deborah! Thank you for letting us help!

Earlier this year we were able to finally wrap up a long project. This 1937 Chevy Sedan had been recently purchased and given to us for a bunch of upgrades, trouble shooting some problems and general repairs needed. One of the phases of this project was to install some type of a console to replace the homemade aluminum box that was in the car. After some lengthy searching for something that would look good and add the cupholders the customer wanted, Scott gave up and fabricated this all aluminum console to custom fit the car and compliment the interior that was already there. He fabricated every piece including the shifter bezel, the spare change slot and the map/cell phone tray. We then took it to Greenes Upholstery to get it covered with material that would blend with the interior. Customer was well pleased! Thank you Tom, for trusting us with your new purchase!

Last year Don Younger brought us this 1925 Studebaker radiator for restoration. This very rare barn find was completely restored by Don from the ground up. Some interesting discoveries on this project were secret compartments in the rear for bootlegging as well as the original wrist watch that came with Studebaker logo, found new in the box inside the car! The "build sheet" shows this car was sent to the Studebaker dealer in 1925 in primer and was to be painted at the dealership to customer's choice. Very, Very cool find Donnie! Our shop disassembled the radiator from the shell and the shell was sent to be replated. This 93 year old radiator, believe it or not, rebuilt seamlessly and the core was able to be saved which is unusual for this old of a piece. Donnie also had us reworked the aluminum intake manifold to accept a different designed carburetor which was a common "fix" back in those days. The 1st design carburetor had inherent issues that could not be "tuned" out to work properly. We also built and installed a new exhaust system for this project while the body was still off of the chassis. Since the photos, Donnie has completed this project and it is a beautiful, very rare automobile that is once again like new. Thank you to Don Younger for letting us help with this restoration!

Earlier this year we got a request for a bed mounted cooling system for this 1950 Willys Pickup big block Chevy project. There just wasn't enough room in the engine bay to install a radiator and fan set up that would be large enough to do the job. Blown Custom's of Russell, KS had Scott build a radiator, sheet metal mounting and stainless steel piping to plumb this bad boy along the frame rail to the remote mounted cooling package. The radiator is a 2 pass configuration with 3 rows of 1" tubes (4" thick). The cooling package included a fabricated aluminum fan shroud and fan mounting with an 18" "Monster Fan" that pulls upwards of 3800 CFM ( for real )! Scott also fabricated an air scoop for under the bed to direct ram air into the radiator core from underneath when moving down the road. The system was completed with an overflow reservoir sufficient is size for this system. Thank you to Dave Brown for having us help you with your customer project!!

Yeah..... we work on gas tanks too!!! Here was a pair of 1926 Harley tanks that needed some TLC ( understatement!!) Marty Patterson brought these in to be reworked. Scott has done a few pairs of these now that were in pretty rough shape but these were at the outer limits. Scott disassembled them, laundered all the metal pieces, fabricated replacement pieces and sections as needed and welded back into the assemblies. The tanks and internals were then tin coated to prevent rust and then reassembled. He worked with the metal until it was ready for a skim coat and sanding. They were then shot with primer until there was time to do the finish work for paint. Thank you to Marty for trusting us with these rare pieces!

Well, it's been a busy year and coming to a close. Here's one of the neat customer jobs we did for Neil Werth. A very modified 2006 Shelby Mustang. Neil wanted the same exhaust exit through the ground effects as how it came from the factory but wanted the supercharged stroker engine to breath so Nathan and Ryan removed the exhaust from the headers back and Scott made up new pipes for this project. Neil wanted all stainless steel so Scott made all the parts including oval tubing, the guys installed and tacked it all together, then removed it for Scott to TIG weld everything together. The specialty exhaust tips were cast aluminum but had extermely small inlets and were squeezed down to even smaller midway through. Scott cut off the offending sections of the tips, stripped the coating off and fabricated new aluminum sheet pieces, tig welded the aluminum tips back together and gave them an original cast appearance again. We them took them to Leon's to get re-powdered and Scott buffed the edges back out.... The appearance was almost like they had never been touched but now had oval inlets of a much larger size to fit the fabricated oval piping now under the car for better ground clearance considering the jump in pipe size. Thank you, Neil, for trusting us with a portion of your project!

Huge shout out to the staff at Best Radiator. Had some issues with my radiator today and they got me fixed right up. Thanks again!
Just dropped off the musclecar to have them get me back up and going on the street. Nathan is awesome and takes the time to work with me. I am excited to get my 1974 Buick Gran Sport Stage 1 455 back on the street. Going to get the exhaust done and have them go over the general tuning. :)
