NEO Spec Buggy

NEO Spec Buggy NEO Spec Buggy is an RC racing class designed to pit driver against driver on the most equal terms possible in a fun, cost-controlled environment.

NEO Spec Buggy Rules & Regulations:

NEO Spec Buggy is a class designed to pit driver against driver on the most equal terms possible in a fun, cost-controlled environment. This is a more limited spec than typical stock class racing with several rules being enforced using the honor system. Cars will be inspected prior to every heat of racing (qualifiers and mains) and post-race inspections will be conducted if deemed necessary. If your car is not inspected prior to your heat or you fail a post-race inspection, your time for that heat will be disallowed. All cars finishing in a bump position of a lower main or in the top 3 of an A-main will be inspected post-race. Chassis: Any 1/10th scale 2wd buggy style chassis. Chassis must follow ROAR guidelines for this class. Motor: Hobbywing XERUN Justock 3650 17.5T (HWA30408002) in unmodified condition. This motor has a fixed endbell (fixed timing) and will be the only motor allowed. ESC: Hobbywing XERUN XR10 Justock (HWA30112000) in unmodified condition. This ESC has fixed 0° timing (zero boost) and will be the only ESC allowed.

*Motor / ESC Combo HWA38020402 is also legal as it consists of the two previously mentioned components. Batteries: Any 2S hard case LiPo battery. Batteries will be checked to be no higher than 8.40V prior to the start of your heat. Batteries are not to be hard-cycled and should be charged at no more than 1C. Tires & Wheels: Any tires and wheels designed for 1/10th scale 2wd buggies. 4wd front tires and wheels are not allowed. Bodies: Any 2wd buggy body intended for racing. Minimum Weight: 1600 grams. This is 100 grams over the typical stock limit to discourage severe weight cutting. Stick-on weights typical for these cars will be available for a reasonable cost to help make minimum weight if necessary. Driveline: No driveline weight reduction is allowed other than 3-gear transmissions for mid-motor chassis cars (i.e. no cut gears, slipper eliminators, lightweight axle systems such as MIP Pucks, etc.). This is intended to be a gentleman racer class where several of the rules will obviously have to be enforced using the honor system. The previous list is not an exhaustive record of every regulation for the class, but serves as a base set of rules and as a guideline for the “spirit” of the class. If you are found to have made deliberate modifications to your car that are determined to not be in the “spirit” of the class, you will be given one opportunity to remedy the situation. Any times set in heats run with the car in that configuration will be disallowed. If you fail to remedy the situation and are again found to be out of spec, you will be disqualified for the day of racing / event.
