Street Freaks Starke County, Indiana Street Freaks is a group dedicated to the love of building, driving, racing and showing hot cars, trucks and bikes (wagons, skateboards, etc.).

It is a home for those in Starke County who tear up the street or the trail. Essentially a no pressure club. In the late 80's, Jim Heim from Bass Lake started a car club called the Street Freaks. We would meet to talk about hot rods from bikes to muscle cars to you name it. I started this page so that we could restart this club under a low pressure forum. We could start by designing a new shirt (o

r modify the old one) so that when we are at shows, swaps, races and other events near and far we can display our group.

If you happen to have to work in California and you go to the gym at 6 in the morning you might just drive by a random parking lot and find a couple of hundred Street Freak type individuals or more meeting up for a cup of coffee and networking! Talk about some nice stuff!!! Something for everyone and no rust.

One of the very best things about being a Street Freak is getting the opportunity to network and make new friends through our culture. I had the pleasure of meeting Edward Delbert Grush pictured here with me and Carmelita. Some around these parts might know him for his vegetable stand on 35 just south of County Line. Recently, his daughter Tracie Flagg reached out to me to ask if a local Street Freak might have a '57 Belair that her Dad could get a ride in for his 90th birthday. I said yes, I do, but I work a lot so we might have to juggle the time. Well, today we had a nice ride together around the lake and the family even made a $50 donation for our next show which will go to Starke County Humane Society. I told him that we will make this happen every birthday as long as I am still around God willing. Thank you to the family for giving me the opportunity to make Delbert smile.
