🚘 Another Project at Buckner & Sons Custom Garage! 🔧

We recently pulled this 1987 Chevy out of a barn, and it’s time to bring her back to life! She’s been off the road for several years, but we’re ready to change that.

Our goal is to go through this truck from the ground up, replacing and repairing whatever is needed to make her a dependable, reliable, and enjoyable driver once again.

And we’re not stopping with the mechanical side! We’ll be adding some attitude to her looks, too. 😎 This old Chevy has plenty of potential, and we’re looking forward to seeing it all come together.

Stay tuned for updates as we bring this old truck back where she belongs — back on the road and turning heads!

Another classic leaves the shop! 🔧
We recently had this beautiful 1964 Ford Galaxie in the shop for a little attention to get her ready for the road.
The work included:
🔧 New brake master cylinder
🔧 Rebuilt and installed the power steering control valve
🔧 Carburetor adjustment and tuning
Everything is dialed in, and she’s ready to cruise just in time for some beautiful fall weather! 🍂

This is a power steering control valve, used on many 1960s Ford cars equipped with the factory power steering system. Unlike modern power steering systems where the assist is built into the steering gear or rack, these Fords used a separate valve mounted in the steering linkage.
The control valve is connected between the steering gear and the center link. Inside the valve is a spool and hydraulic passages that respond to steering input. When you turn the steering wheel, the valve directs pressurized power steering fluid to one side of the assist cylinder. That hydraulic pressure helps push the steering linkage in the direction you're trying to steer.
One interesting thing about these systems is that the valve doesn't simply provide power all the time. It reacts to the load and movement in the steering linkage, providing hydraulic assist when it's needed.
This one is rebuilt and ready for install.
