June 20, 1941 marked a pivotal moment in automotive history as mass production planning accelerated for the military Jeep program.

Built to be tough, reliable, and capable of going almost anywhere, the Jeep quickly proved itself on battlefields around the world. What began as a military necessity would eventually evolve into one of the most iconic off-road vehicles ever created.

From rugged wartime terrain to mountain trails, forest roads, and overlanding adventures, the Jeep's legacy continues more than 80 years later.

It's amazing to think that many of the off-road vehicles we enjoy today can trace part of their heritage back to this historic moment.

At the time, most people were still traveling by horse and carriage.

Imagine seeing this strange, noisy machine rolling down the road for the very first time. 👀

On June 3, 1916, the Lincoln Highway became one of America’s first fully promoted transcontinental automobile routes — stretching coast to coast and helping launch the country’s obsession with road trips and adventure travel.
