New rims for the Trailblazer! Couldn't pass up the steal π. Same diameter as the stock wheels but about an inch wider. So, seating the bead was a pain in the a$$! Brute force couldn't bring success and neither could a bead blaster. Last resort was the boom method and I'm not too fond of that one! So, YouTube to the rescue again! I learned that if the gap between the tire bead and the rim is too big, fill it! A bike inner tube is perfect for this job! I used an 18" inner tube. L**e the tire bead, the rim and the inner tube....lots of l**e here, don't skimp out. The soapy water is gonna seal the little leaks that have been preventing this bead from seating and causing all kinds of new curse word combo variations of the good ol' classics. The slicker the inner tube is, the better chance you have of removing it easily when the tire does begin to take air and the first bead seats. POP! Besides the joy of new rims I also replaced the brake pads all the way around as well as upgraded the rotors to drilled and slotted beauties AND new calipers all the way around. Also threw 2 new wheel hubs assemblies on the front. Been working at this slowly and very happy to see I'm almost done in time for winter. Still have to replace the rear diff cover and I'm hoping to have that done by Monday.
