This kind of build is a SHOW Stopper, much much different than a PRObuilt Beam. All Components are ultra smoothed with subtle touches. This kit would be $8k in todays market. I can safely say no one would interested in building something similar đź‘€ , right? I can say that, right?

If you have an old VW front Beam assemble from a Beetle, Ghia or Thing, I would like to purchase it from you. If you remove the control arms, spindle assemblies and steering box assembly from the beam and put those parts in a box or bucket, I would give you $150 and send a prepaid UPS shipping label to pay for shipping. I would pay with PayPal and I can handle everything on Monday.

I finished my 1970 Beetle restomod and electric conversion (don’t be mad at me for that)…

But I’m bummed I can’t get the stock steering box or a crappy aftermarket new steering box to have less than 5” of slop in the steering wheel. It is definitely the box even with multiple careful attempts with a professional alignment on a rack, and subsequent attempts to adjust from center with the right toe-in, etc.

Is there a steering upgrade I can/should do to make my beetle handle like a champ? I don’t need a performance ride-on-rails sport handling but something that doesn’t feel like I’m always hydroplaning would be good.
