Manda has taken this season to swap from crew chief to driver and is hopeful for her first drivers championship and rookie of the year. She has performed flawless in the first 3 races this season so far setting a new track record of 15.888 and winning qualifying her heats and her mains for the first 3 races.
BUT, After a long winter of rebuilding the 79 car we had the car out for the second race of the season but had some major set up issues. Mirinda drove the best the car would handle bringing home a second place. We brought the car home and worked for 2 weeks getting the mechanical aspects worked out just to have electrical issues and didn't make the race on July 3. So when we brought her back on the 13 hopeful that it would run we got slightly disappointed when it was throwing sparks. We tore it down at the track removed the transmission and found the flywheel had broke around the bolts. So we removed the flywheel and put it back together and push started it for the race. This time with Cecil behind the wheel.
MAN WHAT A RACE IT WAS. Cecil in the 79 and Manda in the 25. Even though Cecil pulled it out by 0.161 of a second it was an amazing race for Manda. She learned a ton about driving on the track in these style of cars and padded her point lead.
A HUGE thank you to the Rebel Racing team for their work in getting the cars together and out there. We would like to thank all of our sponsors and friends who have helped us get this far. Superior Fabrication, Steve's Quick Stop, Mark Shockley, Rebel Trophies and Mountain Home Speedway for the help outside the track. And Adam Nielson, Spanky, and all the officials at Magic Valley Speedway for giving us a place to race.
