Hello Everyone,
As expected, we've heard some concerns regarding the new membership dues requirement before the start of the season. Please know that this decision was not made lightly. During our annual meeting, we spent a significant amount of time discussing the potential impact on the club, exploring alternatives, and comparing our situation to other motorsports organizations, many of which require dues or have substantially higher participation costs.
The reality is that this sport is not inexpensive to operate. Lake fees have increased for the upcoming season, insurance costs continue to rise each year, and we are seeing fewer volunteers available to help keep the club running. Throughout the race season, we spent countless hours in meetings brainstorming fundraising opportunities and ways to offset these growing expenses.
While our banquet was successful and generated enough funds to cover our lake fees, it did not cover our insurance costs. We have also worked hard to pursue sponsorship opportunities, and many of you have probably seen the requests and emails that went out over the past year. Despite those efforts, Mother Nature dealt us a difficult hand this season, and unfortunately that had a significant impact on our finances.
The truth is that Our Gang Ice Racing is not the same club it was 50 years ago. Many of the racers and volunteers who helped build this organization have retired and moved on. Today, it falls to a smaller group of dedicated members and volunteers to keep the club alive and moving forward. There is an incredible amount of work that happens behind the scenes that many never see, and every year we have fewer people available to help carry that load.
We are committed to keeping Our Gang Ice Racing going for future generations of racers and families. The dues structure is one step toward ensuring the long-term stability of the club.
If you have ideas, would like to volunteer, or think you can help make a positive difference, we would love to hear from you. We are always open to new ideas and additional helping hands.

UPDATE ON 2027 RACE SEASON

Hello Everyone,

As we prepare for the 2027 racing season, we want to let everyone know that club membership dues will now be required for all racers participating in Our Gang Ice Racing events.

Annual dues are $150 per member. However, we are offering an early bird discount of $100 if dues are paid by November 1st, 2026.

These dues help support the club by covering insurance, lake fees, equipment, and other expenses necessary to keep our racing program running each season.

Please note: this requirement does NOT apply to our Sunday Funday participants.

We truly appreciate everyone’s continued support, participation, and dedication to keeping Our Gang Ice Racing going strong. We couldn’t do it without all of you! If you have ANY questions, please feel free to reach out to us at [email protected].
