Fuel cell shenanigans on a beautiful Saturday afternoon!
Built an RC pickup box and a filler box to fill the void on the left side of the can.
New foam for the bladder should be here this afternoon.
It's a slow grind but the CoT Impala project moves along!

Throwback Thursday !
Taking a look back at 2023 to the return of racing and the All-Star race at Wilkesboro.
My friends and I were asked to put on an infield display and pace the field prior to the event.
Running down the back roads after the event in the truck was epic.
I was asked to bring out the KBM truck or my KFB Camry by two separate groups for 2026.
But after all the racing, testing, commercials and travel so far this year, taking a break with family is more important this weekend.
Besides you only get one chance to do it first !
Happy Race Weekend Everyone !

Seven days ago was the culmination of more than six months of hard work !
It resulted in one of the most surreal experiences I thought I would ever experience.
That would be restoring, building and racing NASCAR Stock Cars at LeMans.
The pinnacle of it all was a 2nd Place Podium finish for the #88 Cliff Stewart Racing Gatorade Pontiac driven by good friend Dr. Jim Norman.
On many occasions throughout the eight days we were there I found myself in utter awe of what we as team have accomplished, experienced and shared together.
The sense of camaraderie and fellowship shared by everyone within the paddock area was simply amazing.
It didn't matter what brand or era of car you had, we were all racers helping racers.
Changing engines, clutches, steering boxes, ring gears, hoses, fuel cells, or fixing headers it didn't matter.
Everyone helped everyone, if you didn't have a spare or broke a part, someone had it to help get you ready for the next session!
Enjoyed seeing a lot of old friends and making new ones.
More importantly,
I say thank you to my amazing friend Bill Rhine Enterprise, John Skoder, Derek Kearns, Jim Norman, Carlos De Quesada and Larry Carrol.
We had a hell of a time and took home a Trophy and Champagne with a rear steer Poncho set on kill !

Originally built from a couple of spindles I cut apart, the Impala CoT now has front spindles and brakes !
I originally cut these apart from three different spindles to make one set of 8° standard height, standard drop spindles for the Impala.
I coated them with some Steel-It and four hours ago I began assembly.
AP 6 piston calipers, AP mounts, ProSystem hats an 1-9/16" rotor, Speedway Engineering hubs, Timken Bearings, Mobil 1 LFM grease and they're ready to bolt on!
Maybe I'll get the front suspension on tomorrow after a trip to the Jockey Lot in Anderson.
But now it's time for a shower, grill some burgers and rub feet on the couch with my amazing wife and watch The Sopranos!
Stay motivated my friends!

The mess involved in mock up !
The "Be**er" Impala CoT is getting a pretty decent set of brakes on it.
Getting things right takes time, you can't just slap it together.
Making sure the caliper is centered is key in preventing brake drag, overheating and uneven pad wear.
Just as important is overall rotor diameter clearance to ensure it doesn't contact the caliper when it grows from heat expansion.
Keep that in mind !
I've made a video about it way back, it's on the Stock Car Surplus YouTube channel if you're interested.
Danny
(Yes, I know the rotor vanes are backwards. It's just for mockup.)
