Finished wiring up the dash in CoT Impala.
Completed and integrated the gauge signal and power harness.
Mounted the HDP20 plug and Alternator quick disconnect in a new panel I made for the firewall.
Fabricated all the battery cable with new lugs & #2 cable throughout the car.
A lot of people have messaged asking what I use to fabricate my own harness.
The same stuff used by many teams for the last twenty years.
Tyco Deutsch connectors, Raychem DR25 heat shrink, AutoMeter gauges, Ashcroft transducers, Honeywell breakered switches, Tefzel wire, GXL / TXL wire, tin coated copper terminals and a quality crimper.
Don't use those garbage plastic insulated wire terminals.
Far to many times I've seen people use them on their "Restored" stock car and just created a spliced and chopped up abomination of what they call a wiring harness.
Those plastic insulated terminals are prone to improper crimping and failure.
Don't be cheap and end up burning your car to the ground.

Friday morning project !
Out with the old wrinkled dash and cracked yellowing lexan cover.
Made a new one piece dash top from a piece of .032 in the drop pile.
Quick pattern, bead rolled, coat of SEM Products Trim Black and a few SkyBolts.
Up next ? Lunch with my lady and enjoying the rest of a 96.

Wiring continues !
Got the AutoMeter stepper gauges installed in the newly fabricated dash panel after the paint dried overnight.
After pulling it apart I decided to reroute some of the wiring in the first harness I made.
I'm happier with the way it looks now.
Tomorrow, I'll run battery cable from the master on the dash to the battery mount in the rear.
Then it's onto the gauge and sensor harness.

Started wiring the control side of the ignition system this evening.
Hit one small snag.
When I installed the gauge panel the bottom corner of one gauge touched the corner of the right side leg board and keeps it from mounting up flush and correctly.
When I did the pattern mock up with Redi-Board it was only 1/4" thick and the folded / welded finished fl**ge is 1" thick.
Minor oversight, so I cranked out another one from a scrap piece of .060.
Punched a few holes offset to the left on the Rotex and broke the fl**ges.
I'll shoot it SEM flat black tomorrow and make battery cables.
I've got a few ideas for the gauge harness and an HPD26.
But now it's time for mid-rats and a shower.
Stay motivated no matter how small the setback is!

Needed to restock the shop fridge so I hit the MEGA LO MART this morning.
Walked passed this gem of a T-Shirt.
I can see where the parade lappers get it.
I guess if HMS thinks it's okay to tell the uneducated that Jeff ran a Dupont Camaro so can they.
By the smell of it this shirt won 36 races and 7 championships itself !
