415 18° steel block build about to make some power on the dyno. Looking forward to seeing what this new package puts out. With years of success building steel block 18° engines, we are using that information to build even better. Plus when you receive an engine from Baldwin Racing Engines it will be dyno tested to ensure everything is running correctly, timed and tuned, rotor phase checked, valve lash reset after pulls and everything else we do to make sure when you hit the track your race ready. Give us a call for your upcoming 2027 plans, it’s not to soon to start with parts delays as bad as they are again.

This years AERA Engine Builders Association EREF PRI engine raffle is moving through the shop this week. First up was getting the S**T Crankshafts 4.00” LS crank along with there H-Beam 6.125 rods all balanced up to match up with the RaceTec pistons, Total Seal Piston Rings and King Bearings.
Next was preparing this sweet Dart Machinery LS Next block, it will receive the deck height set, lifter bores honed, bores set to the proper piston to wall clearance and surface finish. Main bores checked for size and geometry to make sure oil clearance is set to our spec. Keep an eye on the page as this years build comes together, you can purchase tickets at www.AERA.org

Jason is going through every spring on every head to ensure spring rates are just as we want them. Just because the spring company says it coil binds at a certain number, we always double check and set our heads up to the real coil bind number, not what the box says it is. Performance, perfection, longevity is what is we do!!! This Buxton spring tester works very well plus, we record every spring in every head we assembly for future use and accountability in what we build.

We are saving this 410 sprint head for a local racer after a guide boss was knocked out of it. CHE built us a custom guide so we set the head up, bored the new oversized hole and now it’s ready for the new guide and a valve job.

A little bit of dyno time on this stage 1 355 derby build. Break in is completed, now on the dyno under load and some rpm cycles. Time to dial in timing and carb adjustment. When we can put a load on the engine on the dyno we can actually see what the carb is doing using O2 sensors and we have the ability to see all 8 cylinders if we choose to do so as well.
