Unsafe Towing Alert – This Will NOT Be Tolerated in Spotsylvania County

The Spotsylvania County Sheriff's Office observed this highly unsafe towing setup involving a vehicle reportedly headed to Mexico. The violations in these images are not only illegal—they're dangerously irresponsible:

🔴 No proper tow chains
🔴 Severely bald trailer tires
🔴 Makeshift connections and unsecured components
🔴 Overall unsafe configuration not roadworthy

Our deputies are actively patrolling to ensure the safety of everyone on the roads. If you’re towing a vehicle or trailer, it must meet Virginia safety requirements—including working safety chains, functioning lights, proper tire condition, and a secure hitch system.

This type of reckless towing puts innocent lives at risk and will be addressed with enforcement action.
