AGVSPORT

AGVSPORT AGV Sport Group's mission: to develop technically superior protective gear for Motorcyclists. Designed by Riders for Riders for over 35 years.
Brief history and facts of the AGVSPORT brand: - In 1977 Michael Parrotte started business with AGV Helmets in Valenza Italy about a plan to bring the famous Italian marquee to the US market. - Michael started AGV USA in 1978, and bcame the official US distributor of AGV Helmets. - In 1985, AGV Helmets signed a long term licensing contract for the use of the AGV brand on apparel and related products. - The first product created under the AGVSPORT name was the CX-1 glove in 1985 and was worn by GP racing star Randy Mamola. Boots were also created later this year, and leather suits and jackets were introduced in early in 1986. - In 1990 the AGVSPORT brand name appeared on the products for the first time and replaced the AGV name and tri color logo. - AGVSPORT leathers are selected as the official leather supplier of Keith Codeโ€™s California Superbike School, replacing the Japanese brand Kush*tani - In 1991 Loris Capirossi won his first GP World Championship wearing AGVSPORT brand leathers and AGV helmets. - In 1992, AGV Helmets in Italy purchases 51% of AGVSPORT. - In 1994, AGVSPORT repurchases it shares from AGV Helmets and again was an independent company. - 1996-1998, AGVSPORT sponsored riders including Troybaylis, Mat Mladin, Ben Bostrom, Eric Bostrom, Miquel DuHamel, Aaron Yates, Thomas Stevens, Pascal Picotte, and Steve Crevier. - In 1998 the first variation of the new contemporary lettering and logo was used. This logo was used on all products worldwide until it was updated in 2010. - In 1999, AGVSPORT and AGV USA separated offices and AGVSPORT became not only legally autonomous but commercially as well. - In 2001 the licensing program was terminated when AGV Helmets in Italy formally acknowledged that the AGVSPORT brands were a separate and unique brand from AGV Helmets. - In 2007 World renowned Italian apparel manufacturer Dainese purchases AGV Helmets from the Belgian investment group which owned them. - In 2010 AGVSPORT begins a long term exclusive licensing arrangement for the US market with San Diego based Motonation. www.agvsport.com

History The AGVSPORT brand was born in the early days of AGV helmets' entry into the North American market. Having its origin in the safety helmets gave AGV Sport a unique outlook in the apparel industry. AGV Sports Group is one of the oldest rider-owned and operated apparel companies in the motorcycle industry. Founded in 1985, AGV Sport sought to introduce more technical features into motorcycle apparel instead of relying on style alone as was the common practice. AGV Sport products have consistently won best in class awards from numerous motorcycle publications around the world. A high tech "helmet" mentality drives the development of all of AGV Sport's products. AGV Sport provides a motorcyclist with a line of both affordable entry level products as well as world class high end products hand crafted in Italy. The list of riders who have worn AGV Sport products at some point during their career reads like a Who's Who of Road racing - Randy Mamola, Loris Capirossi, Troy Bayliss, Kurtis Roberts, Steve Crevier, Ben Bostrom, Miguel Duhamel, Eric Bostrom, Thomas Stevens, Pascal Picotte, Roland Sands, Mike Hale, Randy Renfrow, Aaron Yates, and of course multi-time AMA Superbike Champion Mat Mladin. The identical AGV Sport products worn by our professional riders can be purchased by the general public. In addition to the information we collect from our world class professional riders, a lot of input is received from our customers and our own personal experience. We are passionate about the sport and all the personnel involved in product development at AGV Sport, and are among the sport's greatest enthusiasts. AGV Helmets and AGV Sport AGV Helmets and AGV Sport are two completely autonomous companies, one Italian and one American, bound by a common history and the great heritage of the world and the sport of motorcycle racing. In 1978 AGV USA, a division of Intersport, Inc. in Maryland became the official importer of AGV Helmets for the United States. In 1985 AGV SpA (AGV Helmets, Italy) assumed ownership of this distribution and Intersport, Inc. was licensed the right to make apparel and other products excluding helmets worldwide bearing the AGV name and trademark. By 1990 the name AGV Sport or AGVSPORT was being used on all apparel items including leather gloves, suits, jackets, boots, and textile garments and AGV Sports Group, Inc. was formed. For a brief period in the early 1990's AGV SpA owned approximately half of AGV Sports Group, Inc. During the 1990's AGV SpA was sold several times and went through a number of mergers and acquisitions. In 2001 AGV SpA recognized formally that AGVSPORT was in fact an independent brand name belonging to an independent American company. Today AGV Helmets is owned by the famed Italian apparel company Dainese.

Mission: Mission Statement AGV Sports Group is a company which has quietly provided some of the best protective gear, in the world, for motorcyclists over 27 years. We have remained one of the oldest rider-owned and operated apparel companies in the motorcycle industry. AGV Sports Group produces high quality protective apparel, offering top performance at a great value. Born in the early days of AGV Helmetโ€™s entry into the US market, AGV Sports Group has a unique technical outlook on the design of our protective apparel. Our commitment to materials and design innovation has played a major role in the evolution of the AGVSPORT product line. Our products are engineered to be strong, light, abrasion resistant, cool, and comfortable. From affordable entry-level products, to world class high performance safety apparel for professional racers, AGVSPORT products are geared for the serious rider or racer. The list of riders who have worn AGVSPORT products, at some point during their career, reads like a Who's Who of road racing: Randy Mamola, Loris Capirossi, Troy Bayliss, Kurtis Roberts, Steve Crevier, Ben Bostrom, Eric Bostrom, Thomas Stevens, Pascal Picotte, Roland Sands, Mike Hale, Randy Renfrow, Aaron Yates, and seven time AMA Superbike Champion Mat Mladin. AGVSPORT has been the official leathers for Keith Code's California Superbike School for more than twenty years. Unlike most other apparel manufacturers, the identical AGVSPORT products worn by the professional riders can be purchased by the general public. In addition to the information we collect from our world-class professional riders, a lot of input is received from our customers and our own personal experience. We are passionate about the sport. All of the personnel involved in product development at AGV Sports Group are riders, and are among the sport's greatest enthusiasts. Each product is designed by riders, for riders, and function is never sacrificed for aesthetics. By keeping product development and design in house and using experienced riders, we are staying true to the dedicated following of discerning motorcycle enthusiasts who respect the quality and value of AGVSPORT performance driven products. www.agvsport.com

Itโ€™s official....ULW Champion #1 plate!!!
At the beginning of the year, I made the decision to put everything into winning the 300 titles. The bike setup was exactly what I needed to stay at the front of the pack. This years success was only possible due to the many sponsors who supported me to make 2019 a record breaking Championship season.

We are sorry that we are a bit behind. This photo will have to do for Two Stroke Tuesday, Wheelie Wednesday, TBT and Flashback Friday. This is UNK in the Mid Ohio AMA 250 race in 1993. We are sure that somebody knows who UNK is and we are sure that we will recognize the name when they tell us. The only 17s we remember are both Duhamels, Scott Russel and Jimmy Filice and we are pretty sure it's none of them.

This upcoming weekend I will be racing the NJ MiniGP Sprint and endurance races New Jersey Motorsports Park - NJMP Go-Karting at New Jersey Motorsports Park, and I am so excited. Mat Mladin - Mladin Racing

Today at Winton Motor Raceway, Max Croker #41 had his first hit out on the Mat Mladin - Mladin Racing Suzuki GSX-R 1000 Superbike. It's been a long 6 months of surgeries and recovery but finally today Max got to cut some laps.

Mat Mladin: "The whole idea of the day was for Max to run some laps at his own pace and slowly get reacquainted with the Superbike. In other news, AGVSPORT / AGVSport Custom Suits finally herded up enough cows and were able to make a suit large enough to fit me which gave me the opportunity to have a ride on one of our team superbikes. It also gave me the opportunity to fully understand just how f**kin stupid that decision really was. Whilst I didn't crash or break any lap records, I did touch my knee slider twice and both times were because of my complete lack of speed and the slider saved me from falling over". ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿคฏ๐Ÿค™

Max Croker: "I really enjoyed having my first ride back on the Mladin Racing Suzuki GSX-R 1000 Superbike. It was a positive day and we managed to get quite a few laps in. It wasn't long before I was back into the swing of things and I was reasonably pleased with how my injuries held up. I can't thank my Team, Family and Sponsors enough for their support throughout this long recovery. Really looking forward to going racing again".
