Quick story from a month ago! I know it’s long, but please read it!

We receive a call! Vehicle broke down in roadway, right past intersection! They need a tow truck! Work quickly through details and we send a tow operator out! It’s raining and yucky outside! He quickly dresses in rainsuit as he is walking out the door! As he is driving to the location, he knows he has barriers that he is up against….its raining, in an intersection, 2 people in vehicle that he has to try and keep safe, and he has to load a disabled vehicle quickly to keep everyone safe and minimize any issues!

Upon arrival, he quickly assesses the situation. Has riders get in his truck while he stands in the road and blocks traffic to load the disabled vehicle!

Horns honking, angry drivers as they attempted to drive around him, people waiving at him with one finger…yet he continues to load the vehicle quickly and safely!

For FIVE minutes, people couldn’t slow down, be patient, and let him take care of this vehicle and the people in it! Have we become so insensitive to what it must feel like to have car trouble and be broke down? Have we lost our sense of the ability to care for the well being of others? The therapist in me says, “man, our society has PIG issues!!! (Problems with immediate gratification)…”. we have to get to our destination when the gps says and there can’t be any variance! We don’t care about what others are experiencing!

Slow down, move over…..our operator wants to go home! Our police/fireman/EMT/road crews/highway safety folks….they all wanna go home!!!! They don’t wanna lose their life because of your PIG issues! Work on those issues! Next time you see lights, slow down and move over! See how you feel…if you feel irritated, check yourself! If you feel angry, check yourself! If you are five minutes late, leave earlier or simply be late! Work on your PIG issues! . .

Returning from the Tennessee Tow Show in Chattanooga…..Recap…
1. If you are ever in Chattanooga, drive down Broad Street and see the Wall of the fallen Tow operators.. As I stood at the Ceremony Saturday, I prayed for the safety of ALL tow operators! I don’t know statistics, however, it seem like the majority of fatalities among tow operators were caused by impaired drivers….Under the Influence AND DISTRACTED drivers mostly by cell phones! PUT YOUR PHONES DOWN and DO NOT DRINK AND DRIVE!!!
2. Training is ESSENTIAL in our industry! Our operators often become complacent…WE CAN NEVER BE COMPLACENT!
3. New equipment..We, at Stonie’s, work hard to keep our equipment updated!!
4. There sure are some pretty trucks out there!!!
5. We are Proud members of the Tennessee Tow Association
6. TAKE MORE MONEY!! 🤣🤣🤣
7. Possibility of a new and exciting expansion…too soon to tell!!!!😝😝😝😝

Please slow down and Move over! We all know it’s the law…But most importantly, our operators wanna go home and do not want to be a name on that wall! Much love to you all!!!! Happy Sunday!!!

The Towing Industry
It isn’t a job where you clock in and out and certain times. ****We work when the calls come in. ****
It isn’t a job where everyone loves you. **People are stressed and angry and scared as they are having car troubles or In accidents, dealing with insurance companies***
It isn’t a job where you don’t have to watch your back. **SLOW DOWN MOVER OVER is something so many do not do!***
It isn’t a job that you can do “whenever you want!” **People break down and have accidents 24 hours a day, 7 days a week!***

Fellow Tow Operator Killed

Our condolences to the family, Alongi Brothers Towing, and their Operators for the loss of one of their own. CHP is still investigation and looking for the hit-and-run driver of the Toyota Rav4 who hit their driver late Saturday night on Highway 101 in San Jose, California.

Three years ago today, Stonie’s Auto opened the doors to the public! Since then, expansion has continued! The support from the community has been OUTSTANDING! The ones that work with us has worked so hard! We appreciate you all more than you know!!! Stonie’s began with Mike and Bradley (mechanics) and Bobbie Jo and Scotty (they alternated) running the office! On this day, because of the support from the community, Stonie’s has expanded into Tennessee and just keeps growing, with 20 folks that work with us! So…Happy 3 year anniversary to us!! . . .
