My parts came in. I ran for a whole 30min! Tested: Coolant thermostat opens at 80 Celsius. I maintain a constant temp of 81C. well within spec. My alternator works and produces 13.8-14.1 volts and that is a good range.
Found some more issues: My valve stem seals are SHOT. That was the source of the blue smoke.
Tr**ny fluid has to be checked when motor is running and it is so low its not on the dipstick.

Just keep pecking and I will drive again!

Why my radiator hoses cant be trusted......My new owner is a stickler about radiator clamps. Someone, many decades ago put American clamps that bite into my hoses. Sure they are not an issue for 10 years at a time but bad things happen to hoses over long time frames. This is the new style clamps that were ordered. Yep they cost 5X as much but worth it!!!!!

My diesel return lines are shot! good news they still make them! buy it by the meter. Coolant lines can not be trusted, also my radiator drain plugs drip. Old plastic falling apart. New parts on the way should be here Next Friday.

As no harness existed for my aftermarket glow plugs here is the one created (soldered/insulated) also cleaned glow plugs all up no more rust

I now run when key is turned!!! My glow plugs are now all working and I start every time. Next up coolant. Drain my my old diesel so I don't have to run off an external tank.

New drive-line parts ordered as my rubber had deteriorated and a bolt was corroded stuck and had to be chopped off.

UMMMMMM I will not start. My glow plugs are disconnected! David Found out that somone also put in a aftermarket system and its not factory original. I did try to start but its 28deg in this garage. David Will test my plugs and connect them up Soon. He has to figure out this system ......... AHHHHH

My diesel fuel is rusty!!!!
What a 20Y/O mess!
David drained and primed my whole system with new new fuel to the rail and disconnected me from the old tank and plugged me into a fresh 5gal can for testing

My Battery is a black hole that sucks voltage. Yes David checked 3X thinking he had the probes reversed. Nope I just have some Christine in me.

I turned over by hand. Just a wrench on my crank pulley. Built some pressure after a few turns.
