New ink!!!⚡️My friend did a series of Rosie the Riveters around 2011, all absolutely amazing, one print hangs in my home (pictured). But this one, “Rosie Stomps”, has forever stayed in my mind.
Rosie in general means many things, but James’ version speaks strongly to me because he captures joy and fight at the same time. Joy in working with her hands, joy in having purpose, joy in a job well done. Fight for battling injustice, fight for demanding more, fight for getting the hard work done.
I’ve been wanting to turn her into a tattoo for 10 years, knowing I had to find the perfect tattoo artist to trust with it. I found and scheduled months ago, finally getting it done this week! It’s ended up being the perfect chapter-turning point to get it done. I’m so pleased with how well Brenna translated James’ original artwork and the amount of detail she was able to make pop on my skin!
She’s still healing, but I am so honored and pleased to have this amazing, inspiring, and empowering reminder now with me always. A huge thank you to James Owens for creating her and to for so artfully transforming this artwork into tattoo form ♥️⚡️
