I wanted to share a story of customer service from "Aeromotive" that meant a lot to me. I have been resurrecting a 96 Impala that I was allowed to keep in the divorce almost 4 years ago, it has been a nickle and dime ordeal, cleaning the fuel tank, new filters, AC, Optispark, Plugs, wires, starter, brakes, IAC, ICM, TPS, fuel injectors, Exhaust, ABS sensors, reflash the PCM, car still ran rich, seems the FPR which was OK two weeksprior now was leaking gas directly into the intake.....dammit !
It an Aeromotive billet regulator I had installed a long time ago, could not remember when. so I went to the website to look up a rebuild kit, the last $20 was just too far for a divorced budget.
I sent the tech guys a picture of my unit, and the word came back that nope, mine was the old style, out of production since 2002...yikes, had it been that long !, Well a new one was about $246 and that was just not going to happen as I had just lost my job. I have used their products on most of my cars and this was the first failure, but then again, it was 14 years old !
I explained the project and my lack of employment and thanked them for the assessment, but it was just a bridge too far right now, the car would have to stayed parked for a couple more months, it had been about 6-7 years, so I resigned myself to it.
Enzo in customer service asked my if I could send them my old unit and possibly work out a credit. I figured why not, maybe I would land a job and somehow scrape up the money.
I cleaned and sent the unit off to him along with one of my beer club Huggies (HBU), well three days later I get tracking information from Fed-Ex that Aeromotive had sent me something.
Guess what shows up ? A brand new regulator, free of charge, I was blown away with gratitude, and you can bet a customer for life ! So given the choice of some other brand that is a few bucks cheaper, think twice about how this company treated a stranger.
Aeromotive and Enzo, you have my thanks and a customer/cheer leader for life.
