Returning client getting a fresh protective coating after the original coating lasted 4 years on soft GM black paint, which is well known for showing defects and coating failure.
The original coating was still performing surprisingly well, but it was beginning to show signs of age with a slight milky haze effect. To restore the finish properly, we performed a complete detail and fine paint polish to remove the old coating, correct the paint, and prepare the surface for a fresh application of protection.
After years in this industry, I can confidently say that protective coatings work and can last when they are installed correctly. The biggest factors in coating performance are product knowledge, proper paint preparation, and correct application techniques. Unfortunately, this is where many installations fall short.
