🚂 Did you know there's a quarter-mile of track inside the Foley Model Train Exhibit?

The 60-by-20 foot O-gauge model train layout packs an impressive amount into one space, including a quarter-mile of track, one mile of wiring, 84 freight cars, 50 passenger coaches, and a replica of the L&N Hummingbird.

That's just part of what you'll find throughout the exhibit. Stop by and take a closer look at all the details that bring this miniature railroad world to life!

For this week’s Nature in Focus we will feature the pine lily (Lilium catesbaei). The pine lily is also known as the southern red lily and Catesby's lily. Two have been spotted at Graham Creek Nature Preserve recently! This species is endemic to the coastal plain of the Southeastern United States.

Pine lilies are very particular with their growing conditions. They prefer soil that is sandy, moist and acidic. Prescribed fires are very beneficial to this species. They typically bloom July through September.

Fun Facts: Pine lily bulbs can stay dormant in the ground for five years, waiting for the ideal conditions. This lily can can grow up to three feet tall!
