Working During COVID-19

“Out of all of the customers we have dealt with, only one or two were hesitant to come in. We have a small staff with few people on site right now, so there is very limited contact with customers. We are all wearing masks and gloves now. One of our customers took out a bottle of disinfectant and sprayed our detailer with it before she took her paperwork and keys from him outside. He was not too happy with the disinfectant shower!”

The COVID-19 pandemic has allowed many collision repair facilities to push the reset button and improve their businesses.

Interesting Insurance desk review. Created supplement for added parts, repair time and changing R and I quarter glass w/ glass kit to sublet R and I glass. I received supplement back with all approved but would not change glass R and I without invoice from the vendor. Sublet glass R and I = $100 Glass R and I with glass kit = $109 Can’t see the forest for the trees.
I have a question for anyone... Scenario: Customer comes in for an estimate, we write the estimate, they say it will be insurance but first steps were to get an estimate anyways. We aren't a DRP for any insurance companies so of course they write their own estimate. Customer wants to schedule, I ask if they got an insurance estimate and they say "yes but your quote was lower, so we want to go with yours." Well duh, you want to make money. We get it. But my response is always "If there's an insurance estimate available we must work off of that otherwise any extra damages found will become your responsibility, not theirs." Am I wrong?

Ive been a collision/ refinishing tech. For almost 20 years. Im a graduate of WyoTech, and i take pride in my work. Ive had alot of bad experiences with dealers asking me to do "cover-ups." For a "quick flip." I know its not right to do. Lets put slip over rockers on something completely rusted out. Just it can be sold on the lot. What can i do aboit this? Any suggestions?

So Why a Two-Stage Air Compressor? by Brian S. Elliott Compressed air must be of interest to many of the members here. However, if this post is inappropriate for this site, Please let me know and I won’t post any more info graphics on compressed air topics. So have you ever wondered what the reasoning behind two-stage air compressors is and why they operate at such a high pressure? One word, efficiency. Simply stated, two-stage air compressors produce more SCFM per KwH used. They accomplish this by better controlling the heat of compression. The heat from the first stage is removed which, in turn, better utilizes the compression ratio of the second stage. The maddening part of this is that many operators don’t know this and adjust their pressure switches down to a lower pressure. When this is done, the efficiency of these units is lost. The best arrangement for any two-stage compressor is to set the turn-off pressure at 175 PSI and the turn-on pressure at 145 PSI. The output of the tank should be equipped with a master regulator that is set for the required shop pressure, generally between 90 and 125 PSI. On the web at: Air-Options.com
