One of the best parts of being around the water isn’t always the fish you catch — sometimes it’s the people you meet.
At the boat ramp today, I had the pleasure of meeting a dad and his two sons. These boys were only about 10 years old and had just bought their first boat! They were getting ready to head out on their maiden voyage, and the excitement on their faces said it all.
I got to spend a little time talking with them, sharing a few boating tips, some fishing pointers, and of course making sure they left with a couple RI Bass Life stickers for the new boat!
What impressed me just as much was how polite and respectful these young men were. Great job, Dad. You’re raising two good young men and introducing them to something that can give them a lifetime of memories together.
I only wish I had thought to grab a picture of them with their new boat because this is exactly the kind of moment I love sharing on this page.
Seeing kids that excited about fishing and boating reminds me what RI Bass Life is all about — building community, sharing what we know, and helping keep the next generation excited about being on the water.
Looks like the future of bass fishing is in good hands. 🎣🇺🇸
Tight lines, young men, and happy boating! Hope to see you back at the ramp soon.
