Today, Northwoods Motor Mayhem pauses to remember September 11, 2001.

We remember the 2,977 people who never made it home that day. We remember the firefighters, police officers, EMTs and other first responders who ran toward danger while others were trying to escape. We remember the passengers, coworkers, neighbors and strangers who stepped forward to help one another.

Their courage, sacrifice and humanity must never be forgotten.

Today isn’t about cars, shows or events. It’s about remembering the people, the families and the heroes whose lives were forever changed on September 11.

🇺🇸 SEPTEMBER 11 MEMORIAL DRIVE-IN — ESCANABA 🇺🇸

Please join us on Friday, September 11 at 7:45 PM at Ludington Park in Escanaba as we come together as a community to remember and honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001.

📍 Ludington Park
🚗 Cars will line up in the parking lot behind the bandshell
🎬 The movie World Trade Center will be shown on the portable drive-in screen
🎟️ FREE and open to everyone

Bring a lawn chair or remain in your vehicle and watch from the comfort of your car.

This evening is about remembrance.

On September 11, 2001, 2,977 lives were lost. In the midst of an unimaginable tragedy, we witnessed extraordinary acts of courage by ordinary people. First responders ran toward danger to help guide others to safety, putting their own lives at risk. Strangers helped strangers. Countless heroes stepped forward—many whose names and stories we may never know.

We must continue to honor them, remember them, and make sure their sacrifices are never forgotten.

Please join us for this special evening of remembrance as we honor those who lost their lives, the first responders who answered the call, and all those whose lives were forever changed by September 11.

Harlie’s Angels is a Delta County nonprofit founded by Jennifer and Jeff DesArmo in memory of their daughter, Harlie, who died in a tragic accident in 2013. The organization helps teens in need by providing items such as hygiene products, sports scholarships, and other support. Since relocating back to Delta County, they have expanded their work locally through fundraisers and community programs.
