For this Thanksgiving holiday, I would like to extend my thanks for the 92 years of business that our customers had honored us with. I hope everyone has a safe time and enjoy the company of friends and family. Don't forget to stop in and see Steve and the new guys at Warholak Tire. They are good people.

It is with a heavy heart that I share some life-changing news. After 92 years, we have decided to sell Warholak Tire lock, stock and barrel, to someone who, hopefully, will carry it to new heights. Our final day will be October 31st. I know it may seem sudden but, it is something we have been considering for some time. I can't help but sense that many will feel let down by our leaving but, our time has come. Someone was here before us and someone will be here when we are gone. To the greatest group of customers that any business can ever hope to have, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. You will always be our friends and will never be forgotten. I will continue to post stories on this page until I run out of memories.

We will be closed on Saturday, Sept 2nd through Mon Sept 4th in observance of the Labor Day weekend. We hope this doesn't cause any inconvenience to our customers. My suggestion? don't get a flat tire until Tuesday.

For whomever planned on getting a flat tire this 4th of July weekend. Don't. We will be closed Monday, the 3rd as well as Tuesday, the 4th of July. Drive safely. Happy birthday America!

Years ago, my dad told me the story of the Pierce Arrow. He had done a lot of mechanical work on the car of a wealthy customer. It was a Pierce Arrow. A brand driven by John D. Rockefeller, Orville Wright and Babe Ruth. Well, the Great Depression took its toll on the car's owner who could not afford to pay for the repairs so, he sold it to my dad for $500.00 plus the services for which he owed. Dad picked up the car, drove it home, which was next door to the shop, and was greeted by his father. Grandpa walks around the car, looks at my dad and tells him, in a resonant, East European accent, "You know, thees ees not car for young man". At which point Dad tossed the keys to Grandpa, who answered with a smile. That was enough. This is the car.

Even though it was a Chevy, regularly beating my Fords, hats off to Huston Martin and his Little Kim. Saturday nights at Detroit Dragway. If you frequented the drags in the 70's, you know what I'm talking about.
