Happy Thursday from Bikes & Bites!
Welcome back to class…
Life is one big learning lesson, and there’s always something new to learn. Took a ride down to Tuscan to learn something from Chef Kelly while trying something I’ve never made before.
But first, what the hell am I wearing? A COLLAR? That’s not me!
And if you don’t think I was singing this song during class, you’re wrong! There were plenty of witnesses to back that up.
Thank you, Chef Kelly, for sharing your knowledge and teaching me something new!
Any guesses what I’m learning to make? No cheating! Let’s see who can figure it out.

Always the class 🤡

You didn’t think I was leaving Rye Harbor Lobster Pound without putting a few things in the saddlebag, did you?
I couldn’t find a bread bowl locally, so I improvised and hollowed out some Portuguese sweet bread. Topped it off with a few shrimp that didn’t quite make the cut and ended up in the trash.
Some things you just don’t mess with. When you’ve got the good stuff, you leave it exactly how it is. No need to fix what isn’t broken.

I will say that it’s phenomenal over a filet or nice ribeye.

Be better today than yesterday 👊

Some places tell a story without saying a word.
At Rye Harbor in Rye, New Hampshire, this granite monument carries a simple message:

“THEY WORKED. THEY FISHED. THEY PLAYED.”
Engraved with the names of the people who helped shape this harbor and its community, it’s a reminder that a place is more than the boats, the businesses, and the views.
It’s the people who built a life here, worked these waters, and made memories along the way.
Next time you’re down at Rye Harbor, take a minute to stop and read the names. There’s a lot of local history carved into that stone.
These are the stories worth slowing down for.

Welcome back to class. Here’s another little piece of Manchester history you might ride right past.

Veterans Memorial Park sits right along Elm Street in downtown Manchester, and this place carries some serious history.

These black granite markers were dedicated by the City of Manchester on Veterans Day, November 11, 1985, honoring local service members from major conflicts including World War I, World War II, Korea and Vietnam.

Each marker tells part of the story, with the conflict dates and military branch insignia surrounding the central flagpole.

Right in the middle of downtown, surrounded by everything Manchester has going on, there’s this quiet place to stop, look around and remember.

Sometimes you don’t have to go far to find history.

Just slow down, kick the stand down and take a look.

Be better today than yesterday.

The cold is coming. That doesn’t mean the riding stops.

I ride year round locally, so it just means adding another layer, watching the roads and respecting what Mother Nature throws at us.

And just in time for the colder weather, Stacey from S.MaR’Ray Fashions is working on my next custom coat. Can’t wait to see what she comes up with!

Every season has something to offer. Keep getting out there, keep making memories and keep finding a reason to twist that throttle.

Be better today than yesterday.
