Progress photo dump... Steering column utilizes a bicycle headset. Handbrake has a billet aluminum base with titanium handle and pressure sensor for data acquisition. The keypad will control everything in the car along with a turn signal stalk and a few other switches. More titanium pie cuts on the upper coolant pipe. A large cylindrical air compressor filter will feed...the air compressor.

The front of the engine lost another five pounds by converting to a poly rib alternator belt. I made an adapter to mount a BMW power steering pulley to the crank. I also installed a one way clutch alternator pulley since this engine has so little inertia.

Modified intercooler and custom manifold all welded up by . The intake air temperature sensor is visible on the left. It is mounted close to the intercooler's fins to reduce erroneous readings due to heat soak. The manifold was designed for minimum volume and to make conversion to twin scroll possible later on. The fl**ges are fixed to thick aluminum plates during welding to contain purge gas and prevent the 304 stainless steel from warping.

Exhaust manifold, turbo, and hot side intercooler pipe are all mocked up for the new year, and the page is almost to 400...

Finally back to work on the 242 after a busy summer and fall at work and helping out with the trophy truck ( on Instagram). Both fl**ges are bolted to heavy aluminum plates to contain argon purge during welding and reduce warping.

Turned 11lb of 304 stainless into a 2.7lb exhaust manifold fl**ge with the CNC. That was a fun project. :)

The rear suspension is ready to go. We choose the Bilstein SN2 shocks for their low cost, digressive damping, top quality, and user serviceability. They bolt in with nothing more than custom spacers. Springs are cut down from stock to restore nearly stock ride height after weight reduction.
