IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: Our Defuniak Springs Pop-Up location has changed for tomorrow! We will now be at Everlasting Word Church off of Hwy 90. Help us spread the word.

Point Washington Medical Clinic will also be on site for those needing access to health care!

The Fair starts tonight at the Walton County Fairgrounds near Sapphire Island Camping & RV Park in City of DeFuniak Springs. It lasts all week til Saturday. Check out all the neat things they have every night from live shows, exhibits, vendors, to rides. Buy your entry tickets online to avoid the long lines.

Walton County Fair has celebrated agriculture and community in DeFuniak Springs FL since 1924, with livestock shows, rides, and live entertainment.

Public Notice: Community Feeding at Old Thrift Way

A feeding station has been opened to provide meals for individuals and families in need as our community continues its recovery efforts.

Residents in need of meal assistance are encouraged to visit the designated feeding station.

We appreciate the continued efforts of our community partners, volunteers, and response personnel who are helping ensure essential resources remain available to those affected.

We are currently without power, but everything looks good at the moment except for some trees down. We will be accessing damage through out the day.

⚠️ HURRICANE ISAIAS RESTORATION EFFORTS UNDERWAY

As of 6:00 AM on Saturday, Oct. 10, all hands are on deck as our crews begin the work of restoring power following Hurricane Isaias’ landfall last night.

Around 71,000 CHELCO members are currently without power, affecting approximately 92% of our entire system. We know how difficult these outages are for our members, and our crews and contractors are working to restore service as safely and efficiently as possible.

⚡ Outages by County:
Okaloosa County - 17,383 (78% out)
Walton - 52,255 (98% out)
Holmes - 300 (99% out)
Santa Rosa - 181 (99% out)

⚠️ STAY SAFE:
🔴 Stay off the roads whenever possible.
🔴 If you must drive, slow down and watch for fallen trees and power lines. Please give our crews and contractors plenty of room to work safely.
🔴 Stay far away from downed power lines and always assume they are energized.

📱 At this time, our phone systems are still down due to an issue on our provider's end. Our IT team is actively working with the provider to restore service as soon as possible.

⚠️ OUTAGE RESTORATION PAUSED UNTIL TOMORROW MORNING

Due to extreme weather conditions, all CHELCO crews have been called in for the remainder of the night to ensure their safety.

As of 7:00 PM, nearly half of all CHELCO members are experiencing power outages. Restoration efforts will remain paused until crews can safely resume damage assessments early tomorrow morning.

We understand how difficult it is to be without power, and we appreciate your patience and understanding. Our crews are ready to get back to work as soon as conditions allow them to do so safely.
