There she was looking all pretty on the dyno. Ready to get to for next weekend. Good luck
Somehow we always end up with unexpected visitors in the shop. needed a little diagnosing of a significant boost leak. All fixed!

Our guys are awesome. Despite only having 5th gear Mike Lima finished P2 in his school today. Very proud of him. He listened to everything Tory told him and built on it. Car is all loaded up looking forward to the September 12hr course race and enduro.
Unfortunately the #86 Signal 12 Racing/VMS Miata has gotten stuck in 5th gear when Mike was getting time towards his competition license. With that we will be unable to do the enduro as a team. However Tory is going to coach Mike on the radio thru driving the car only in 5th gear so he can complete the school to get his competition license. New transmission will be in soon as we will do the September 12hr course enduro as a team.
The VMS boys are off to Sebring next weekend with Mike's Miata so he can get his competition license. After which he and Tory will drive the car in a 3 hour enduro.
Soon we will have the MR2 GT car and the Miata going on the same weekends.
Race Recap 04/01/2017 - Daytona International Speedway
Dirty race cars are best! P1!!
Go to 1:34:20 to see our post race interview with Tory. Can't thank our guys enough, we came back from two "penalties" from passing under phantom yellows still coming back on top in D class. I also forgot to mention we were hoping for a fun battle with the David and his guys in the 386 Cage Gauge Camaro but their alternator exciter wire broke leaving them several laps down from us. Good job to those guys hopefully we can have more interesting battles between us local Daytona guys. Need to really point out that Mike did an amazing job yesterday, allowing Tory to really focus on driving and give what was needed to win. Matt, Mike and George also did a stellar job posting great laps and keeping the car clean. Lastly thanks to Bill and his guys for doing awesome interviews and putting the broadcast together.
Post race interview by the one and only Bill with our team owner/driver Tory Vaughan 🏁
First in line for race. Almost time to load in. #3500
Our bullet for this weekend and our parts car ;) We have some awesome people on this team to help make it all possible. Ready to go have some fun!
It's a busy day in the shop today as we prepare for our race this weekend with CHUMPCAR World Series at Daytona International Speedway. Tory is looking over the car to ensure everything is ready to go!
We learned a valuable lesson today! If you break it you fix it. 😂 All joking aside we have some great guys on this team.
We're looking for a clean low mile non vvti Lexus SC400 for Mrs. Vaughan. If anyone comes across one please let us know. :)
Hey guys! It's almost time for the 14 hours of Daytona with the SC400 again. Expecting a good result falling back on our p2 class result from Sebring (and we were on the leaders heels at the end). Couple changes are being made, Tory is stepping down from his Crew Chief position to hand it over the spot to our very own Mike Lima. We are making the change to allow Tory to focus on driving and getting the car where it needs to be. Also to prep Mike for the position with our other cars. Tory: "I coached Mike in his Miata the past year he and I work very well on a communication level. He listens to me and he puts down results we communicate on a pro level. When I ask for something I get it. That is something I am lacking when I get in our cars at the moment. I'm spreading myself too thin. I can't wait to see what the result is when I have the information I need in car". We are very proud of this change and we know the result will be good. Tory is an amazing driver and that's where his talents are needed. Of course if the car is in for unscheduled service Tory will be the first to work on the car. "I know the car inside out, if something happens to it we have my wife's SC at the track to "borrow" parts off of as well as many spare parts.".

Been working on our race rig setup for next year. Our beautiful Cummins 12v dually is getting some serious work done to its injector pump not to mention a bunch of other goodies. Our gooseneck is also getting some restoration work. Some of you may not recognize it.
Time to put some real on our
Put some oil and transmission coolers in the . Also made a few changes. Ready to make more power on the dyno next week. #6266
Finally got some new suspension on our next candidate. She also got some new parts installed to make sure she's ready for her swap.
More progress on our . Lexan, dry brake, mirrors and trim is all finished up. Just getting ready to lift the power train in and install our custom brakes.
Back to work on this beast. We finally found the perfect brake rotors for this car (and they are off the shelf imagine that). They just came in so we will begin making the brackets next week. Also making the lexan windows for the car as well.
Here is a video of last Saturday's race with Tory in the car. The first part is Tory's first stint and his first time in the car with the car as it is now (no chance to test due to traveling this month). The second part was night driving with poor track conditions (Oil, water, mud on track), poor lighting, and worn tires. Enjoy.
Tory Vaughan IV driving the #678 Lexus SC400 during the 14 Hours of Sebring Chump Car event.
Race re cap: This past weekend the VMS crew took part in the 14 Hours of Sebring ChumpCar race with the #678 SC400. Building on a 25th overall and 5th in class finish at Daytona in April. We started in the rear of the field (by choice) to avoid the early race messes. The car was battling some heat issues (issues we were able to address on scheduled stops). After a rain delay drivers Matt, Mike, Tory and the crew strategized about taking the 2nd in class position. When the cars were released from the delay our plan went into motion in which Matt was able to obtain the second position. It was now Tory's time to hold on to the position from a fast approaching Lincoln Mark VIII. Within a few laps of being in the car we regained one of the laps we were down from the Infinity in front of us (which meant we were two laps down at this time) we pressed on dicing with the overall leaders and eventually passing the Infinity again. With 20 minutes remaining the SC was back on the same lap as the P1 car in class. It was crunch time. With Tory turning lap after lap, wheeling the car through ever corner fighting traffic, turning the fastest laps the car had turned all race and keeping the car safe we came to one minute and fourteen seconds shy of the P1 spot in D class. All this was possible by turning hard, fast, and diligent laps. Although we didn't get the spot we wanted it was a huge leap with the car. The crew and drivers all did an amazing job. We will be back in December. Soon we will be nipping on the other SC's heels for an overall win.

Check this out!: We successfully wired a ETCSi (Electronic Throttle Control System with Inteligence) into a AEM Infinity standalone. This has been done by so few people that AEM has contacted us and asked how we tackled this project. We are proud that these schematics and knowledge will be used to teach more shops and individuals how to take on this intimidating project. Just another way we are helping our fellow enthusiasts.
