S62 piston perfection, manufactured by JE in accordance with our specs that have evolved over the course of a decade. Offset wristpins, asymmetric skirts, hard anodized ring grooves, 2618 alloy, Tuff Skirt coating (compatible with Alusil, of course), friction reduction grooves, lateral gas ports, 11.5:1 compression, H11 tool steel DLC coated LTW pins, Total Seal custom sized rings with DLC coated second ring, contoured tops, and so on. Lightweight, durable, and perfectly suited for everything from daily driving to hard track use. Available only with a Partee Racing S62 build.

Finishing up a custom stainless exhaust for an E39 M5 using HJS stainless cars (of course) and both an H-Pipe and an X-Pipe. Connected to Jedders in the front and Eisenmann Race boxes in the back. Yum.

This is a great way to remove valve guides, viz., boring the ID so as to reduce the strength of the friction fit, then using the resulting internal ledge to knock the guide out by hand with no air hammer.

What exactly does Partee Racing do? We keep the last great naturally aspirated BMWs alive, and make them better than they were from the factory.

Partee Racing specializes in BMW S54, S62, S65, and S85 engine builds, engine installations and track preparation, race builds, and complete restoration projects. Our focus is preserving the engines and the cars they came in with the level of detail they deserve, which conversely allows us to (should we desire) build them in some pretty wild ways, for some pretty intense use cases.

We are not a general-service shop. We focus on serious BMW engine and chassis builds, installs, and full projects for owners who want the job done right.

We specialize in the last great naturally aspirated BMW motors, but we also do some very special turbo builds, such as an S63 for my friend, Tim Hallman’s M6. Tim is seeking to hit 1k WHP reliably, and our view was that could only be accomplished by adding port injection to the S63. Unfortunately, only one company makes port injection manifolds, and they are very expensive and built for the later version S63, not Tim’s earlier version.

So we made our own. Chris Knerr whipped up the design and 3D metal printed them out of Alusil. Clarke Swann welded the two pieces together, and John Ashworth machined the result to fit. I am giddy with the result and cannot wait to see what Matt Lambert can tune this up to!

Our new sealant injection tool was developed out of necessity for the BMW S65 and S85 engines, though includes a multitude of other applications. The system is capable of up to 14,000 PSI, with as little as only 'hand pressure' torque being required. Use requires 3/8-inch tapping of the block and girdle.
