How many shops will detail their project builds both daily on the socials plus offer a full build journal - with hundreds of images and tech tips? Not many - but Vorshlag has been doing this for over 20 years.

Our latest build update is summarized in this blog post, with links inside that to get to our infamous Vorshlag Project Build Thread forum. This entry covers our S65 V8 swapped BMW E46 we are building for SCCA Time Attack Max4 series. Click below to learn more!

If you have been following along since late 2025 when we revived this build by swapping in an S65 BMW V8 and 7 speed DCT into a widebody E46, you might be interested in the latest Forum Build Thread…

Big progress on our latest seat bracket base design - for the Fox / SN95 Mustang. Christian finished driver's side and installed that with a slider, and I sat in the Corbeau seat, with and without the cushion. My 6'3" frame fit great both ways, but we will use a thinner pad for track use with a helmet. As low as we can go with a slider, for sure.

Christian then made the mirror image bracket for the passenger side - CNC cut the steel and ribs, cleaned up, and welded. That will get drilled for the sliders tomorrow and we can finish both sides, then take the pair for powder coating.

Thanks to everyone who came out yesterday to the Grand Opening event at E3 McKinney Motor Club!

We had a number of Vorshlag built cars there and I ended up talking to folks for five hours straight.

If you need secure storage and a DIY area with access to a lift, this is the place in McKinney!

We are bringing multiple Vorshlag built cars to tomorrow's Grand Opening event at E3 McKinney Motor Club. Stop by to see this new storage and DIY facility where you can have 24/7 secure access to your car, store a trailer, and also use the facility's lift and tools for maintenance.

The Grand Opening party is open to everyone Saturday June 27th from 8 am - 12 noon, and everyone can enjoy their Coffee and Crepes station (its like a thin pancake). We will have our J37 V6 powered widebody FRS, our carbon widebody 700 whp Mustang , and we just delivered the Pontini Racing endurance BRZ - plus many more race and sports cars.

A place you can Store, Restore and so much more at McKinney Motor Club, where like minded motoring enthusiasts can come and enjoy everything with wheels! This is located in a very updated building that was once the Tupps Brewery in McKinney, TX, near the historic Cotton Mill on Elm Street. See you Saturday!

We have been knocking out tasks on our S65 BMW V8 + DCT swapped BMW E46 Time Attack car. Today we finally got the funky routing of the cold air intake cleaned up how we wanted.

The rolled radiator allow us to put the air filter right behind the hood grills to feed a "ram air" box (we have to finish one more heat shield). Some 4.5" diameter tubing was added off center to a carbon fiber K&N carbon fiber filter, then silicone bends lined it up with the S65 plenum box. This should feed the 8 individual throttle bodies well.

We made good progress on the Fox Mustang "Seat Bracket Base" today. Jason drew up a prototype that Christian cut out and bent (without any of the lap belt holes of "windows").

Our low mount side brackets were fitted, the seat test fit, and I even got to sit in the car with it today. Jason will finish the final CAD drawing in the morning, CNC cut the steel plate and ribs, then we can weld it all up and get it installed. More soon!

Heck of an effort this week, but the list of tasks and changes was just too long for a 40 hour week, even with 2-3 people attacking it, to replace (and upgrade) the Honda v6 engine in our FRS.

The new oil pan fab was epic but just a LOT, and that tied up the engine install for a couple of days we just couldn't spare. But why run the new engine with the proven insufficient oiling system?

Every single thing fought us - one upgrade would result in 3 other changes that needed to be made. Parts ordered last week "overnight" never even arrived, just too many linked tasks dragged.

Welcome to racing! 🤣

We have been attacking the S65 swapped E46 GTR build whenever we have a spare moment. In recent days the Floßmann Auto Design GmbH front bumper cover got some front tow hooks, splitter strut stand-offs, and mesh screens.

While the oil pan was being welded up, Christian worked on the front radiator ducting starting with cardboard and going to .063" thick sheet. It is all sealed up nicely now. Next up we can work on the cold air ducting and heat shields for the filter - which will be fed from the two upper grills in the hood.

Custom oil pan fabrication for our J37 Honda gets a fluid fill leak check before it goes on the engine. We added FIVE quarts and trap doors around a new pickup

Status update on our J37 swapped FRS!

Race weekend in 3 days. Replacement engine is ready and the new higher capacity + baffled oil pan is being welded together now. More soon!
