I have a belief that’s probably going to upset some people.

I don’t think most struggling PDR companies are struggling because they’re bad at what they do.

I think a lot of good operators are buried in administrative work.

Photos.

Documentation.

Supplements.

Status updates.

Customer communication.

Follow-up.

And somewhere in the middle of all that, the actual repair still has to happen.

I’ve seen incredibly talented operators spend more time managing paperwork than managing their business.

That’s backwards.

The best people in the company should be focused on customers, repairs, production, and growth.

Not spending half their day trying to figure out where a file stands.

I think a lot of good companies aren’t losing because they’re bad operators.

I think they’re losing because they’re buried in administrative work.

For years, Classy has been known for estimates.

But the more time I spend talking with shop owners and working in this industry, the more I realize the estimate is only one piece of the puzzle.

The real challenge is everything that happens after the estimate.

I think most repair shops are solving the wrong problem.

Everybody is focused on getting more cars.

More leads.

More hail.

More estimates.

More work.

But that’s not what I see.

What I see is shops with plenty of work…

And claims that aren’t moving.

Customers waiting on updates.

Phone calls stacking up.

Supplements sitting.

Paperwork piling up.

And nobody knows exactly where everything stands.

The truth is…

Most repair shops aren’t struggling with repairs.

Most repair shops aren’t struggling with sales.

They’re struggling with everything that happens in between.

And every day a claim sits, money sits.

Every day a claim sits, production slows down.

Every day a claim sits, customers get frustrated.

That’s why I’ve become obsessed with one question:

We’ve been pretty quiet lately.

The truth is, my father has been battling blood cancer, and we’ve spent a lot of time at MD Anderson over the past several weeks.

At the same time, my family moved, life has been busy, and social media simply hasn’t been a priority.

But seasons like this have a way of reminding us what matters most.

Faith. Family. Relationships.

I’m grateful for everyone who has prayed for my father, checked on our family, and continued to support Classy Estimating.

We’ve still been serving shops, helping customers, and building behind the scenes.

I’m looking forward to what’s ahead.

Most shops miss this completely.

Every time a hood, fender, door, trunk, or bolt-on panel gets R&I’d during a hail repair, those factory-painted bolts can get chipped, cracked, or marked from the removal process.

If those bolts aren’t properly touched up afterward, the vehicle no longer matches factory appearance standards.

That matters.

Insurance policies are written to restore the vehicle back to pre-loss condition — not “close enough.”
