Girard GSWH-2 propane heated tankless hot water heater conversion upgrade on a 1963 Streamline Empress Model 28. Owner is very happy with endless hot showers 🚿 as no more outdoor showers anymore!

When winter gets closer here’s a reminder to make sure you winterize your camper’s water system including the hot water heater, by draining it & then blowing the whole system out with compressed air!
I maybe able to have a local aluminum welder repair this crack otherwise a new expensive hot water heater is in store for this unhappy camper!

This 2004 Gulf Stream Class A came today from Newcastle, WY to have me look at why his small slide wasn’t working. Got it working again so he doesn’t need it anymore so now he’s going to sell it!
Has only 39,000 miles & is in mint shape inside and out!

So I drove the 500 miles to Montana & pulled the trigger this morning on this 1963 Streamline Empress 25’ Gold Seal! After thorough inspection this is literally a well kept time capsule, thanks in large part to the semi arid western Montana climate and the folks that owned it! I got a good cash deal and I can’t wait to pull it back and start working on it to bring some 21st century technology into it but for now I’m concentrating on getting it roadworthy!

The mighty Minnie Winnie lives again! A new fuel pump, some fresh gas and this little Winnebago is once again going to hit the road with it’s new owner. It’s nice to see & work on an oldy like this one in this kind of shape!

New business cards are in, I went with 3 different RVs on them. The black horse trailer was my first RV I redid to live in and haul my motorcycle.

That's a wrap, a foldable insulated canvas slide out wraps that is! Temp at a steady 75 degrees with thermostat set at 75. Furnace kicks in less for less blower noise which in turn means less 12volt amperage draw being consumed. Important when not plugged into the grid or on winter nights in the north when your solar panels don't work.

What to do when the outdoor temperature is at -14°F & your inlet heated & insulated water line froze up when you got up at 05:00 am 🕔 but you happen to have an onboard air cooled generator?!
Try running your onboard generator that produces essentially Free electricity (so crank up those electric ⚡️ space & hot water heaters) and as a big side benefit the hot air blowing from the engine cooling discharges underneath the rv to warm up said frozen water hose. Only works if you have skirting!
It was at +35°F underneath there in about an hour or so & it got up to +46°. The whole camper feels warmer!
And yes hose thawed out & it took about 2 hours to unthaw but I’ve had water 💦 the rest of the morning! Stay warm my friends

Now that the cold winter is here, how about sealing up those slide-outs with these locally handmade near Custer, SD with 100% USA manufactured materials into custom made insulated canvas enclosures from my next door neighbor Holland Construction, like I just did?!
They started with my personal bedroom slide-out today & they will be doing my living room slide-out next. Cold drafts & chilliness Be Gone!

Another satisfied customer! Justin & Erin & kids were traveling from Chicago to the west coast when their check engine light came on.
Diagnosis with my scanner was a TPS (throttle position sensor). Replaced it & they’re now continuing heading west on their vacation. Thanks folks, have safe & happy motoring trip!
