Emergency repair in Dana Point. Customer waited to get his fenders rolled and ended up baconing 🥓 the lip. He almost attempted a DIY and I convinced him that would be a bad idea on a Lexus GS400.

Bacon Repaired. Fender shaved, rolled, and pulled. Besides the existing paint damage, these fenders basically look like they were never baconed.

I've been accused of fear mongering. Yup, you read that right. When I warn potential customers against using the cheap services they find on FB Marketplace, OfferUp, the Tire Shop, my buddy's friend...etc etc. Some of them listen and have great experiences having me work on their fenders. And the ones who don't listen...check out the carousel.

These are just a small handful of the BS work I see. Every single one of these could have been avoided. But now that they're damaged, the cost to repair FAR exceeds the cost to have a professional do them right the first time.

E30 BMW came in with track-damaged front fenders and cracked paint.
Bodyline was toast… so we did an impromptu bacon repair to rebuild it, then pulled the fenders to clear wide-track tires properly. Functional, clean, and ready to get driven hard again.

1968 Camaro. Shredded sidewalls and outer tread from quarter panel contact.
This is what happens when classic sheet metal meets modern tire fitment.

Instead of rolling the lips and risking the aluminum trim separating or needing removal, we shaved the inner lips to preserve the body lines and fix the clearance issue the right way.

Every car is different. Every solution should be intentional.

Probably the most complicated question to answer without a video. Lots of E Chassis BMWs have sealed rear quarter panel lips. This makes shaving less labor = less $$$.

If a customer insists on having them rolled, I painstakingly remove the sealant, then roll. Fun fact, I've worked on a handful of E9X that only have 1 panel sealed...go figure.

This is the kind of expertise you get from a pioneer in the fender rolling industry. Fat Stance has rolled over 25k fenders over the past 13 years.

RHD RX-7 FD was slammed on it's nuts when the new owner clipped the fender and baconed the lip. He did his best to push it back in, but messed up the paint and bodyline in the process.

These are the fitment stories that I try to prevent, but sometimes suff happens and I'm called out to fix what was easily preventable.
