Last chance to order a 2024 Opel Nationals t-shirt. Deadline is March 14th. Short sleeves are $15 and long sleeves are $20. They will be delivered to me before the show in early April. If you want them shipped to you, add $10. Otherwise, I can hand deliver them to you at Charlotte or Carlisle in May. Let me know asap! Hope everyone is doing well!

I finally got the proof of the 2024 Opel Nationals T-shirts!

I’m taking orders as of now. The price is $15 for Short Sleeve and $20 for Long Sleeve. If I can deliver them to you at the show in Charlotte, no shipping charges. I can also deliver to Carlisle in May if you‘ll be there.

Otherwise, if it’s ok with you, I can just charge a flat shipping of $10. If it’s more than that, I’ll eat it. If it’s less than that, I’ll donate the difference to the Animal Shelter charity we are donating proceeds to this Spring.

The cutoff date for ordering is March 14th.

Last call for for getting passes for the 2024 Opel Nationals at the Charlotte Motor Speedway, April 5th, 6th and 7th. I need to know by Wednesday, February 14th as I have to let the Speedway know how many cars we plan to show, by the 16th. Let me know ASAP if you want to attend. The Spring AutoFair is the "BIG" show of the two AutoFair's each year. This is a show you really don'y want to miss.

As a reminder, I need to know if you plan to attend the 2024 Opel Nationals by February 15th, at the latest. I can't guarantee you will get passes to be on the showfield with your Opel if I don't hear from you.
I'm going to check on a few more hotels today to see if I can get a decent club rate. As I said before, the hotels near the speedway aren't discounting anything for the weekend of the AutoFair. The one that did give us a rate was unacceptable. Probably the best bet is to go on a hotel discount site such as Travelocity or Expedia to get a room. A few people have already signed up at the Holiday Inn Express on 7772 Gateway Lane, Concord, NC 28027. I just checked the price at Hotels.com and it says $197 a night.

For those of you who didn't already know, the Opel Nationals at Charlotte, NC will be held at the Spring AutoFair April 4, 5, 6 and 7th. The main show day is Saturday, April 6th.

A few things to get you up to speed...

The cost will be $30 per car for two people for all four days. You can use the pass for all four days or just one day. This will get your car onto the infield at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. There will be a cut off date to register your car but I'll let you know that later when I know. If you plan to attend, just let me know as soon as possible. I've already started a list of people who plan to come!

The hotel is not settled yet and it may not be. The hotels I've contacted about getting a group rate for our Opel club are not wanting to help out. They know the Spring AutoFair is a big deal and they are giving group rates to anyone. These hotels are the close to the Speedway so that's probably why. I would suggest calling and getting a reservation at the hotel of your choice asap due to the demand for rooms. The hotels I'm talking about are on Gateway Lane NW in Concord, NC 28027. There may be cheaper hotels up and down Interstate 85 at other exits. If I can get a rate negotiated with a hotel, I'll let everyone know.

T-shirts will be available! The company is working on the design now. It will be very similar to the last shirts we had made for the Charlotte Opel Nationals four years ago but with a few colors added in. I'll keep you posted...

We plan to have an auction a some point during the show, probably on Saturday evening. All proceeds after expenses will go to a local Animal Shelter! Four years ago, we raised money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation and before that, we raised money for the Crohn's Disease in honor of Tom Cavataio. The Nationals at Charlotte is not to line peoples pockets but to help charities.

2024 Opel Nationals at Charlotte
April 5,6,7

Hotel Update:
After speaking to a couple of hotels near the speedway this morning, it seems the hotels are not going to give out "group rates". The reason is they say the Spring AutoFair is a "Big" show and the hotels fill up without giving out group rates. It sucks but it is what it is. The Spring AutoFair is the biggest and best of the Spring and Fall AutoFairs. The hotels know it.
They suggested you go ahead and call the hotel you want to stay at and reserve a room as soon as possible. The Holiday Inn Express is $183 per night, which is $26 a night cheaper than the Hilton Garden Inn that we stayed at 4 years ago.
These higher rates are higher nearest to the speedway. There are other hotels a few exits up Interstate 85 that you could check.

Hotel row at the speedway is on Gateway Lane NW, Concord, NC 28027. There are a lot of restaurants within walking distance near the hotels.
