At Palmetto Garage Works, we're more than just fixing cars…we're building careers and serving our neighbors.

This week we're proud to recognize Cody Martin, our Columbia SpeeDee Market Leader!

Fun fact: Cody's PGW journey started with a random Facebook message from a PGW employee about an opening at our Harbison SpeeDee location. The message was originally sent in 2019, but Cody didn't see it until the spring of 2020. At the time, he was working in the restaurant industry as businesses were shutting down during the pandemic. What could have been a setback became the opportunity that launched his career with PGW.
Cody joined the team as a General Service Technician and has worked his way through maintenance repairs, sales, store leadership, and now market leadership, supporting multiple locations across the Columbia market.
Over the past several months, Cody has also taken on assignments throughout South Carolina to support PGW wherever help was needed. His willingness to say "yes" to every challenge, lead from the front, and serve others has made a tremendous impact on our team.

Thank you, Cody, for your dedication, resilience, and commitment to your team, our customers, and the PGW mission. We're grateful to have you on the team and can't wait to see what's next!

It might be time for a wheel alignment!

Many drivers don't realize that poor alignment can cause:

Spotlight Wednesday:
This week, we're proud to recognize Matt Dooley, General Manager of our Gervais Street location in Columbia, SC!

Matt Dooley joined the PGW family in January 2026, bringing with him an incredible background of service, leadership, and dedication. Before entering the automotive industry, Matt proudly served our country in the United States Navy for 24 years. The values he developed during his military career: integrity, accountability, teamwork, and service; continue to guide him every day.

Originally from Rhode Island, Matt has quickly become a valued leader within our organization. Known for being kind, outgoing, organized, and exceptionally honest, he has already made a positive impact on both his team and the community. Matt has helped spearhead several initiatives focused on supporting veterans and is always looking for ways to get involved and give back.
One thing Matt is quick to point out is that success is never a one-person effort. He firmly believes that the accomplishments at our Gervais Street location are the result of a strong team working together toward a common goal. His commitment to recognizing and supporting his team is one of the many reasons he is such a respected leader.

Thank you, Matt, for your service to our country, your dedication to our customers, and the positive impact you continue to make at PGW. We're proud to have you leading Team Gervais!

We are excited as we continue to grow into new opportunities to better serve our customers and communities! For many years, both our teammates and customers have asked us to bring our family-owned company to this side of town.

We have found the perfect location, and the timing is right to expand our footprint and continue serving even more customers.

The future is bright, and we are excited about what’s ahead. The second half of 2026 is shaping up to be one of the most exciting chapters in PGW’s history!

And we’re just getting started. 🚂
