๐จ 2026 TAX UPDATE โ THE NUMBERS MOVED. ๐
The IRS released the updated amounts for Tax Year 2026, and some of them went UP. Hereโs what changed:
๐ต STANDARD DEDUCTION
โ๐พ Single โ $16,100
โ๐พ Married Filing Jointly โ $32,200
โ๐พ Head of Household โ $24,150
๐จโ๐ฉโ๐งโ๐ฆ EARNED INCOME TAX CREDIT
The MAXIMUM EITC for taxpayers with 3 or more qualifying children goes to $8,231 for 2026.
Now hear me on this part โ thatโs the maximum, not what everybody gets. ๐
What you actually qualify for depends on your income, your filing status, your qualifying children, and whether you meet every IRS requirement. Anybody promisinโ you a number before theyโve seen your documents is lyinโ to you. ๐ณ
๐ถ๐ฝ CHILD TAX CREDIT
Also adjusted for inflation for 2026, followinโ the increase to $2,200 per qualifying child that started with Tax Year 2025.
๐ IMPORTANT: These are 2026 tax-year amounts. They apply to the returns you file in 2027. Not the ones youโre dealinโ with now. ๐ฏ
Hereโs why Iโm postinโ this in August instead of January:
Because I stay ready so my clients donโt have to get ready. ๐ฅ
The law changes. The numbers change. What donโt change is that Iโm gone stay educated so I can keep yโall educated. ๐
Save this one. ๐
